Time that our lab become greener. In order to reduce plastic waste, we recently got a nice protocol from the @Dunn_School on how to reuse Falcon tubes. PhD @CleeteRichter trying it out for the first time. We will keep you up to date. #Greenlabs#Sustainability@KirOxford@ndorms
@latifnasser Thank you for answering my question regarding ways to help people open up about difficult conversations. Good to know that it's as simple as having others realize you're there to help them tell their true stories :)
One good thing about wearing a mask in lab is that I don’t have to worry about my breath particles contaminating my samples as I hover over them to pipette.
In this #VirtualSTEMCamp, you'll delve into the world-famous green fluorescent proteins (GFP) and its family of #FluorescentProteins. You'll learn about the applications of GFP in cutting-edge scientific research, and more. Enroll by 1/13: https://t.co/X5U0Q318VB @elenacortesian
Had a conversation with my dad about the “diversity” projects I’m already being asked to do in grad school. His response:
“Are your white classmates required to do the same or are they allowed to focus on their studies in peace?”
Damn.
"Analysis of US PhD dissertations over 3 decades finds demographically underrepresented students innovate at higher rates... but their novel contributions are discounted, leading to less successful careers."
We're going to change that. #truediversity https://t.co/8cUIMC49H3
While I'm happy the govt rescinded the F-1 Visa decision, scientists and unis need to show the same support to URM students. Hypocritical is a good word.
Amazing how ICE rescinded its decision to force international students out of the country after universities were preparing lawsuits. Now, I’m going to need that same energy from these institutions to fight for our DACA students.
