Justice Sotomayor grew up in the projects. My birth parents were also poor. By her logic, she nor I should be here; by her logic, aborting us would have “helped” our families. Yet, now she’s a Supreme Court justice, and I’m a spouse of Jesus Christ. Thank God we were born.
How to warm a weary priest’s heart. Please know how much we priests cherish and love these little notes your kids give us. They mean so much to me and help me more than I can say. They are true spiritual bouquets. Thank you!
Update on last night's situation of being denied entry to a COVID patient's room. The respective "higher-ups" spoke today, and priests are again able to provide #sacraments to COVID patients at @bswhealth_DFW. Grateful for this resolution and to continue this ministry. #catholic
Jesus is happy to come with us, as truth is happy to be spoken, as life to be lived, as light to be lit, as love is to be loved, as joy to be given, as peace to be spread.

Since COVID began @FrSzatkowski, myself & a team of priest have been visiting all those sick with Covid in the Dallas Diocese. We’ve been trained by hospital staff on safety, have all the proper PPE, &have been in hundreds of Covid rooms. This is disgraceful.

A question we have received from many is, 'do I have to abstain from meat on Friday, March 19, the Solemnity of St. Joseph?'
Canon 1251 in the Code of Canon Law covers this!

'It would be preferable to suffer all the possible torments of Earth until the Judgment Day than pass one day in Purgatory.'
St. Cyril of Alexandria
- this quote pops into my mind sometimes when I start to rationalize little sins.

If you cannot safely attend church remember it is not a day of obligation. It is still a day to fast & abstain from meat.

In a December 8 letter to his diocese, Bishop Daniel Flores (@bpdflores) said that he wants “to assure Catholics that it is morally permissible for us to make use of the various vaccines when they become available.” https://t.co/tKwopZUkXB
