@CarolineHagood Nothing sexier than a man carrying a laundry basket full of clean laundry up three flights of stairs, or deftly wielding the kitty litter scoop. Just saying.
@CarolineHagood Without 3 and 4 you may as well just read my journal. It could be “good,” but is it how I want to be remembered on the page? I want to engage all parts of myself to make something the parts cannot in isolation. But maybe I am too precious and doomed to obscurity.
@JenReadsRomance The “I paid my way through college” discourse makes me want to spit nails. The stakes have increased exponentially in all directions and I can’t see who actually benefits.

@StateofKate Where You Go is Not Who You Will Be, by Frank Bruno is very reassuring. And a gap year is a valid choice, particularly after Covid. I learned on my first kid and am listening to my second. There is no one correct path, no matter what the College Board screams at you. Hugs.
@fklein907 When I moved cross country with my young child I exhibited all those behaviors! Plan their room together, draw a floor plan or make a list, let them pick bedding, reassure them the fundamentals will be there. Give them room to be weepy. Give them time to grieve. Practice the same
@meadwriter That time away from it has made me more sure of it, rather than less. Anxious to get back to work now that I know the characters better—aspects of their world just clunked into the right gear for me.
