I do! But I know he’s never going to be okay again, because he has advanced dementia. I saw this with my own grandparents, and all I can genuinely hope for, from the bottom of my heart, is that he gets to live a life with dignity, whether that’s for a short time or a long time.
Somehow, this still feels like fate is at play. I don’t know how the universe works. Could my desire to get the house somehow contribute to his condition? Or should I simply set the intention to both get the house and keep him well? Maybe thats it.
The problem with manifestation: I’ve been manifesting a home of our own for us, but all the houses that would be suitable for us are way over our budget.
Now we’ve found out that my husband’s father, whom he has only seen once since early childhood, might be quite wealthy, and he is in poor health.
Even though he is a difficult person with a personality disorder, I can’t wish for anyone to die, even if it would make my dream come true.
Is the universe somehow arranging things this way? Do I need to let go of my desire? His father could very well live for many more years, or his current condition could end up being fatal. I don't know what to wish anymore.
Honestly, I don’t think most young women are all that smart. And that’s not a bad thing, it’s part of being young. And even if they are, they’re raised to think like men, to believe that the greatest thing they can achieve is becoming a prime minister or something, while femininity is reduced to embodying some highly curated, hyper-feminine beauty ideal.
But young women (and men) NEED guidance. Not from men, but from their communities and families, and that they don't have right now. It takes exceptional discernment to step outside the prevailing culture altogether. If someone manages to do that in their thirties, I already find that admirable.
@jurlycat It is! But it’s not always as simple as you might think. It took me about nine years to figure out what I wanted to be called, and another year to realize that my husband couldn’t possibly know if I didn’t tell him.
My husband is a clown.
He’s always joking, and I love that about him.
But he also calls me silly names.
I told him that I love his jokes, but I want him to call me beautiful things, too.
And now he’s been calling me beautiful names, and he notices how much I enjoy it, so he gets excited about coming up with even more.
And it’s so nice. I can’t help wondering why I didn’t ask for this 10 years ago.
I don’t know who is to blame for the current culture: men, women, Jews, who knows...
But there is no one (unless you grow up in a Christian community, and often not even then) who tells young women what femininity is or that it has any value. We are raised to believe that we should do the same things as men and that feminism is on our side. And then men look down on us for doing exactly that, and by the time we realize it, it’s already “too late”, we’ve fallen into the trap.
(And I’m not even speaking for myself here, I abandoned feminism a long time ago.)
I’m only posting this here because it’s just sooo cute, and it never even got to be worn because it suddenly got too cold. (Just look at that pointy hood and pom-pom! ) We have such a huge amount of beautiful baby and kids’ clothes that I just can’t believe there wouldn't be another little one to wear them.
This latest Mandela Effect is by far the wildest one yet. I can accept that maybe I’ve just been living in a bit of a fog and somehow failed to notice certain details about the world, but surely people remember their own flag? Imagine if there were a detail on your own flag that you’d somehow never noticed before. That just doesn’t happen!
I’d love to know if there’s anyone out there who clearly remembers the star being there.
I just hope that on the next timeline we shift into, my baby sleeps well and we have a house surrounded by nature.
No star. Ever.
I’m 76. Lived through the entire Cold War era. Saw the Soviet flag too many times to count.
What do *you* remember?
The Mandela Effect fascinates me, but the idea that AI images have overrun reality on the internet seems far-fetched.
This one bothers me much more than the Fruit of the Loom Cornucopia.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I still had some kind of imbalance in my body. I also have, for example, skin issues, and I suspect that even my children’s poor sleep (most likely due to silent reflux) could somehow be related to my own health. I’m not really knowledgeable enough to have figured out what might be going on, especially since I don’t have any very obvious symptoms. I’ve just been hoping that if I focus on my overall health for long enough, my body will eventually start to heal and restore itself.
I haven’t been able to raise my body temperature, even though I eat plenty of carbohydrates, consume a lot of calories, and eat frequently. I’ve been doing this for about two years now (before that, I followed a low-carb-ish, carnivore-ish diet).
My body temperature has been low for as long as I can remember, barely reaching 36°C (96.8°F). I don’t feel cold, and people even comment that my hands are warm.
I also have hair growing on my toes, which apparently shouldn’t happen if the body is struggling with insufficient energy availability.
So why is my body temperature still consistently so low whenever I measure it?
I’ve measured my temperature at different times of the day, and I don’t think it ever rises very much. There’s some variation depending on my menstrual cycle, but not enough for me to feel confident predicting ovulation based on it. If I ever have a cold and my temperature reaches 37°C, I feel absolutely feverish.
