TWEEPS: In the days since the election, my account has lost 23,000 followers -- mostly bots, I assume. But I wanted to make sure Elmo isn't unfollowing us from each other once again.
Do me a favor: RT this and check to make sure we're still following each other, as we'll get through this together.
Please and thank you! 🙏💪
@SVRaoMD I worry about V-Heft being lost. No one uses Minipres anymore for HF, after the 1986 NEJM study showed with vasodilator increased mortality, but now psychiatrists are using it for sleep disorders in PTSD. Some with HF will unknowingly get prescribed it, perhaps?
In 2014, a 15-year-old Pakistani schoolboy named Aitzaz Hasan noticed a stranger wearing a suicide vest entering his school.
Despite being urged by his friends to run away, Aitzaz decided to confront the bomber.
He grabbed the terrorist, and that's when the explosive vest detonated. Killing Aitzaz instantly.
His actions prevented the terrorist from entering the school and killing hundreds of students.
Following his death, his father said, "My son made his mother cry but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children."
@jillian_rigert I was in family practice and went back at 37 for IM and cardiology. Looking back, it was unbelievably hard. I still have a wife, 2 kids, a mortgage, pets and a great family and career, but the trade off was time away from family.
@KevG163 The rest of the story is that his soon-to-be ex-wife said, "At least I know what bed he'll be in tonight." It didn't detract from the horrible injury.
I see @stephenfry found me on a staircase in Kyiv…
Repost @stephenfry “The splendid sight of @JohnCleese silly walking downstairs greets you as you go down the steps. The perfect air raid shelter …. Kyiv is full of surprises.”
A message from Lisa McNair, whose sister was 1 of the 4 little girls killed in the Birmingham church bombing:
CALLING ALL CHURCHES AND PLACES OF WORSHIP!!
I am asking that each house of worship ring your bells at 10:22 a.m. on next Friday, September 15, 2023 which is 60 years since a bomb took the lives of my sister Denise and 3 other girls. I would also like it if you can share with your congregations why you are honoring the lives of each girl.
Some churches have already agreed to do this. Those without a Church bell are ringing hand bells in front of their buildings. One Jewish temple will blow the shofar.
Please record it and put it on your social media platforms with the hashtag #4littlegirls.
Thanks again for your help and your kindness.
Wow. The Los Angeles Dodgers have re-signed Outfielder Andrew Toles who has schizophrenia and hasn’t played since 2018, so he would still have access to the team’s health insurance and mental health services.
Toles is not expected to play for the Dodgers this season and will likely never play again. Signing with the team will allow him to continue to receive treatment, including counseling, therapy, and medication.
The team was first alerted something was wrong when Toles did not report to spring training in 2019.
Later, the team learned Toles was found sleeping behind a FedEx building at Key West International Airport. Sadly, Toles is just a shadow of his former self.
He was taken to a mental health facility after the incident and the Dodgers recognized the tragic loss of his playing abilities and wanted to ensure he would always have access to care.
2023 is the fifth straight year the Dodgers have re-signed him.
This extraordinary story wasn’t learned about for years.
It gives you a glimpse that sometimes, good gestures are done for good reasons and not for publicity.
@DBelardoMD The stare of California licenses naturopaths. Tell the patient you wrote a complaint, asking for an independent review, and hope that bursts their bubble. Good luck
