A cheaper infrastructure setup ended up being too expensive for the user experience.
On paper, the new setup looked more efficient. In practice, the appβs admin performance dropped, and Largest Contentful Paint increased to 3.3 seconds.
I decided to roll the changes back.
Lower infrastructure costs are not worth it when merchants have to wait longer for the app to load. Sometimes an unsuccessful experiment is still usefulβit shows exactly where optimisation should not compromise the user experience.
Not every feature is visible to merchants.
Today Iβm working on monitoring:
API health, webhooks, functions, and admin performance.
If a Shopify app handles operational notifications, it should detect problems before merchants have to report them heh
@Rixhabh__ I've created a similar memory system for my solo dev workflow (with hashes and ro/rw permissions). It's a little inspiring that I think similarly
Iβm building a small Shopify app for operational order notifications.
Not customer emails.
Not marketing campaigns.
Just a simple workflow:
when an order matches a filter, notify the right supplier, warehouse, or team member by email, Slack, or webhook.
@MiroHQ The platform is not working. I can't write to tech support because I can't log into my account. I have a call in 8 minutes and I can't access my stuff. What is the point of paying for a premium account?
