Are you a Master's student with excellent CV in cancer bioinformatics who is about to defend or recently defended? Would like to do a PhD in the Nordics on cancer network modeling? I have an opportunity with tight deadline. Email your CV and motivation:

Published today! We found that cancer cells adapting to drug treatments don't simply switch from a sensitive to resistant state; instead there's a ‘resistance continuum’ of resistant phenotypes with epigenetically reprogrammed states. 🧵⬇️

@garber_manuel I'm still shocked and sad by the loss. I'll always think of him as having the sharpest Biochemistry brain, making up protocols on the fly as I've never seen, and making great cocktails too. My thoughts are with his family. Thank you for all Patrick
@luispedrocoelho@BioMickWatson@cshperspectives@wjnawrocki That is an added problem but the changes have to start somewhere. To compensate postdocs and grad students on visas journals can pay the university and they can receive it as added bonus (as I did multiple times on a J1 for teaching and TA duties)
FINALLY!!!

@pafgalante: 8,000 fixed retrogene copies in human genome. ~ half show evidence of transcription in 1+ tissue (often brain, testis), at least 1/3 seem translated (ribo-seq). A subset (hundreds) are polymorphic among humans. retrogenes often overlooked in genome biology #DNASRC22
Huge congratulations to graduate student, @IHaoWang1, on the publication of his second paper (and first, first author paper) from the laboratory!

Excited to share our paper published in @NatureNeuro. With #scRNAseq, machine learning, and #Slideseq, we were able to reconstruct the mouse olfactory glomerular map and explore the potential mechanism of how this map is formed.

We're in a transition moment in this pandemic
We're coming off highs of the worst surge of infections we've ever had
Cases are high but starting to fall in much of the nation
This moment raises lots of questions
With one big one: What happens next?

Você já conhece a Revista Brasileira de Bioinformática? Não?! Tem muita coisa legal por lá, incluindo eu e a @elisadonnard falando sobre vias biológicas. Vem conhecer!
