Physicist-Meteorologist | PhD student researching the atmospheric iron cycle at the Atmospheric Composition group of the Earth Science Department, @BSC_CNS
Thrilled to share our paper (first as first author!)
A modeling study💻to quantitatively understand how changes in aerosol and gas-phase species emissions from the early industrial era to the late 21st century📈alter the atmospheric iron cycle ♻️

🌍 🌫The Atmospheric Composition group works to better understand and predict the variability of atmospheric pollutants and their effect on the weather, climate, health, and a range of socioeconomic sectors.
The constant inflow of new ML research has made reviewing climate prediction applications hard. Yet, alien to any recent development, long-lasting inherent barriers exist, affecting from simple regressions to large nets. If you want to learn more, check out our latest paper!
Durante todo el día de hoy los cielos se han visto blanquecinos, pero no eran nubes altas ni polvo en suspensión procedente del Sáhara.
Es humo procedente de incendios en Canadá.
The DUST DOCTORAL NETWORK (#Dust_DN) offers 17 prestigious PhD positions in Europe related to atmospheric dust; more details here: https://t.co/FwdsjrxW6n (deadline 31 August 2024). Please repost!!
Iron is important for phytoplankton growth in the ocean
Monitoring this is key to understanding marine productivity & ecosystem health 🌊
This is essential for coastal communities such as those in the Iberian Peninsula, where marine resources are essential for sustenance 🐠🦐
🌊BSC joins in the #OceanDecade Conference❗
🌍The Earth Sciences Department will have a stand at the conference to showcase all the ocean-related projects currently under development at BSC

Here’s a first:
NASA’s EMIT mission produced global maps of surface minerals in Earth’s dry regions. When picked up by the wind, the minerals cool or warm the atmosphere and Earth’s surface. Understanding their abundance will help scientists predict future impacts on climate.
Interessada en una carrera relacionada amb el clima i la qualitat de l'aire⁉️
🌏💻Vine a descobrir la feina que fem a les portes obertes del Departament de Ciències de la Terra del Barcelona Supercomputing Center (@BSC_CNS)

Absolutely thrilled to celebrate the achievement of my PhD mate, @_cristinagf ! 🎉
Your dedication and hard work have paid off, and I couldn't be prouder to have shared this academic journey with you.
🎆 Congratulations to @_cristinagf, from the Atmospheric Composition Group, on the successful defence of her #PhD thesis!
🙌Well done, Cristina!

Back in the office after an amazing @SOLAS_IPO summer school in Cape Verde @OSCM_
Grateful for the opportunity to learn from fantastic teachers and present my research.
The highlight? ➡️ connecting with over 60 fellow young scientists with remarkable SOLAS-related studies
