Senate Bill 76, authored by @Scott_Wiener and I am coauthoring, will allow local governments to designate temporary ‘Entertainment Zones,’ where restaurants and bars will be able to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption outdoors in a specified zone.

SF, for example, would be able to designate specific blocks during set hours as entertainment zones where art, culture and nightlife can thrive outdoors.
