There is a lot of good reporting in this article but can we really just say that J.D. Vance opposed the war with Iran when his entire record of public statements consists of him supporting it?
Ectopic pregnancy deaths have nearly doubled -- nearly 200 women died after an ectopic pregnancy from 2020 to 2025 -- with the steepest rise in states with abortion bans. https://t.co/ybWJoIbTH6
NOTABLE: The majority compares ICE's mass detention policy to Japanese internment during World War II — and says that historical blight on America is "limited in scope" compared to the detention policy the Trump administration is pursuing today https://t.co/yYYih69qUg
NEW: Resolving only some of the confusion surrounding the status of TPS for 170,000 Salvadorans who have been here living and working here legally since 2001, @USCIS posts the following message.
This reprieve of unknown length is far from the orderly process mandated by law.
These messages from AI execs all say the same thing: things are getting very scary but we are trapped in a prisoner’s dilemma created by the imperatives of competition—aka profit driven capitalism. Incredible situation.
WSJ ed page: "President Trump’s deportation blitz in Minneapolis last winter, dubbed Operation Metro Surge, was a political disaster that’s getting worse.
Federal prosecutors now have accused an ICE agent in January of shooting through the front door of a home with two toddlers inside, hitting a migrant in the leg, and then lying about it to the FBI"

Yesterday, @ArchbishopOKC, president of the USCCB, wrote @POTUS regarding the current situation facing many Haitian families, both in the United States and in Haiti. In his letter, Archbishop Coakley urged the President to provide deferred enforced departure for Haitians peacefully residing in the United States

BREAKING: Jimmy Kimmel announces his interview with Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico will NOT air on ABC tomorrow, saying Trump’s FCC has threatened him, his show, ABC, its affiliates, and local stations over “simple traditional editorial decisions” and guest bookings.
Kimmel says the full interview will instead be posted to YouTube: “In the America we live in right now, that is the best that we can do until November.”
I wanted to know how much EPA spent on admin leave after 1000s were paid not to work, often for months
So I filed a #FOIA —> EPA denied me —> I appealed —> I won
And EPA spent almost $200M on leave
Many never returned to work

"What if China invents the 'Kill all of humanity button' before we do?" - are you thick? Are you daft?
Like yes we need a super-intelligence proliferation pact but no one buys this Red Scare BS anymore, and the US absolutely needs to immediately on its own.
Two corporations are having a nuclear arms race with no government in the world that wants to step in to try and stop them. Except it's worse than a nuclear arms race: a human still has to make the decision to drop the bomb.
ICE deported a man who was 100% in the country with permission from the US government, who was on a certain path to a green card through his wife's pending U visa, whose son is a former Marine and whose daughter is married to a Marine.
This is what mass deportation looks like.
🚨🚨Seems stupid to assume it’s BS hype when THREE Antrophic researchers warn their tech could end humanity. TWO STILL WORK THERE! At the very least, Congress should clear everything else to understand what they’re seeing. But they won’t.
When the tech guys say they think the AI they’re building could destroy humanity but they’re going to keep building it; I am curious: specifically, how? What should I be doing to prepare for the manufactured doomsday you’re bringing about? Thanks for any tips
Crazy to think that in 2026 we've had:
• Anthropic's head of safeguards quit, warning "the world is in peril" (Feb)
• OpenAI dissolved its own mission alignment team (Feb)
• Unrestricted AI usage for the Pentagon (causing several researchers to quit)
• Several AI models escaping sandbox testing (Since ~Q2)
• 1,100+ frontier-lab employees signing a letter begging the government to pace AI development (Jul-Aug)
And today yet another top researcher saying this.
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Bombshell story from @haaretzcom. Netanyahu was explicitly warned about a Sinwar and Hamas planning the October 7th attack, but he brushed it off and never relayed the message to his security chiefs.
New exclusive: In his 25 years as an OBGYN, Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas repeatedly sued patients for outstanding medical debt. At least 81 were arrested during their court proceedings. Some had debt from c-sections; others from miscarriages.
