It’s all too clear that a country in which Jews are attacked on the streets simply because they are Jewish, synagogues need to employ security, & anti-Semitic slogans & images are paraded through city centres or exhibited in art galleries is exactly what we’ve become.
The OBR says that the VAT charge on private schools has raised more money than expected because fewer pupils have gone into the state sector
It expected a 6% fall in private school pupil numbers, equivalent to 35,000 pupils, in fact it's closer to 35,000

People have a right to peaceful protest. It is core to our country’s values.
But we will not stand for assaults on police officers doing their job or for people feeling intimidated on our streets because of their background or the colour of their skin.
Britain is a nation proudly built on tolerance, diversity and respect. Our flag represents our diverse country and we will never surrender it to those that use it as a symbol of violence, fear and division.
Your post is quite astonishing.
You either believe in jury trial or you do not. For as long as I can remember the Conservative Party has seen it as a key part of our freedom under law. If so, you have to accept the right of a jury to bring in a verdict with which you might disagree.
You call it "two tier justice" and try to blame the Labour government for something that you know or ought to know has nothing to do with them. That is the hallmark of the the rabble rouser not a Shadow Home Secretary.
Moral of the story. Don’t bring your divisive nonsense here. Don’t run a candidate who voted *against* investment in the community. And never, *ever* underestimate the ability of voters to smash a supposedly “expert”’consensus.
We're giving half a million more children in England free school meals to tackle hunger, give children the best start in life & help them succeed.
This will put £500 a year back in families' pockets & lift 100,000 children completely out of poverty.

We’re going even further to get the homes local people need.
No longer will developers with planning permission be able to let sites gather dust for decades while a generation struggles to get on the housing ladder.
They are not just 97 people. They are not just the 97. They are mates, dads and lads, couples, parents, sons and daughters.
They are people, loved and cherished. Every one of the 97 people who died at Hillsborough has a story. Never Forgotten.
Great to be part of the Wirral Labour army in Runcorn this morning!
Many voters are worried about Nigel Farage’s plan to destroy our NHS, and want Karen Shore as their local champion in Parliament.

We are aware of social media posts online detailing the injuries sustained by the girls who died and those injured in the attack in Southport on 29 July 2024.
The families of the little girls specifically asked that those details not be reported.
The families of Bebe, Alice and Elsie and of all those affected in the tragedy have faced unimaginable grief and trauma in the months since the attacks, and do not need their suffering compounded by reckless posts on social media.
Please do not post or share detailed accounts of the injuries they sustained.
Thank you.
This is so completely unserious its embarrassing. The Courts set the dates. Based on availability. And they have to have trials within 6 months of arrest where the Defendant is in custody. So that's why.
The Southport attack trial starts today—and of course, it's overshadowed by Trump’s inauguration.
This is a calculated and cynical move by the Labour Government to 'bury bad news' behind international headlines!
