In a bid to promote girls’ education and menstrual hygiene, officials from the Listen Africa Foundation, in partnership with the Pachamama Project in the UK, have donated reusable sanitary pads to girls at Kantare Secondary School, Rwamucucu Seed School, and Kihorezo Primary School in Rukiga District. The initiative aims to reduce dropout rates among girls in rural areas who cannot afford menstrual hygiene products, ensuring they remain in school with dignity.

When Priti Patel, Suella Braverman and Rishi Sunak ran with the Rwanda scheme. When Nigel Farage was given more publicity than the Lib Dem’s, Greens, SNP etc. during the election campaign…
Racism has been normalised and disenfranchised people have been given a scapegoat.
Violence doesn’t come out of nowhere. These riots are over a decade in the making. When Theresa May sent vans round deprived areas of London with ads reading ‘go home’ in the hope of Daily Mail headlines. When Boris Johnson referred to Muslim women as letter boxes…
I keep thinking how 3 little girls were killed & more were hurt & traumatised, & instead of talking about their precious lives, we are being forced to focus on violent entitled white men burning cars & towns, who don’t give a shit about women’s & girls’ safety.
I cannot imagine what it feels like to be a British Muslim right now or black or brown in this country, witnessing the far right riots. Stay safe everyone.
This is absolutely terrifying. The insidious far right, anti immigrant rhetoric pedalled by the conservatives for so long for cheap votes is now playing out in action. Language is dangerous.
Does anyone know what has happened to the man in the car??

BREAKING: Thugs on racist riot in #Hull shout “kill them” as they try to drag “foreigners” out of a car
This is what the far right want to achieve on the streets of Britain. They must be stopped

Period poverty is a particular issue in refugee camps during conflict.
“When you hear the war sirens in the middle of the night and you grab a bag and grab anything you can get your hands on, who thinks to pack sanitary products?” said period poverty activist @ellalambertnow.
This Wednesday, Global Citizen convened key decision-makers and experts including @HelenGrantMP, @micksheldrick, @erna_solberg, @ThokoPooley, and @PScotlandCSG at @UKParliament to discuss the intersection of girls’ education and health.
