I don’t want to connect my coffee machine to the wifi network. I don’t want to share the file with OneDrive. I don’t want to download an app to check my car’s fluid levels. I don’t want to scan a QR code to view the restaurant menu. I don’t want to let Google know my location before showing me the search results. I don’t want to include a Teams link on the calendar invite. I don’t want to pay 50 different monthly subscription fees for all my software. I don’t want to upgrade to TurboTax platinum plus audit protection. I don’t want to install the Webex plugin to join the meeting. I don’t want to share my car’s braking data with the actuaries at State Farm. I don’t want to text with your AI chatbot. I don’t want to download the Instagram app to look at your picture. I don’t want to type in my email address to view the content on your company’s website. I don’t want text messages with promo codes. I don’t want to leave your company a five-star Google review in exchange for the chance to win a $20 Starbucks gift card. I don’t want to join your exclusive community in the metaverse. I don’t want AI to help me write my comments on LinkedIn. I don’t even want to be on LinkedIn in the first place.
I just want to pay for a product one time (and only one time), know that it’s going to work flawlessly, press 0 to speak to an operator if I need help, and otherwise be left alone and treated with some small measure of human dignity, if that’s not too much to ask anymore.
Literally just walking down the street minding my own business when two men start laughing at me and how I look (I had a high bun? which was funny) and honestly what is wrong with men?? Why do you have to bother women that are not bothering you when you could just be quiet??
This book is amazing (the words, not just the insanely pretty sprayed edges that I can’t stop looking at - seriously how cool is this?!) if I could I would erase my memory of this book so I can read for the first time again.
There’s people at the house doing repairs and I’ve just had a work meeting where I got so emotional I cried for 45 minutes and now I have to go and face these repair guys after they heard me sob about being lonely lmao rip me
@stu_turton I read The Whispering Muse by Laura Purcell because you recommended it once and she’s now one of my favourite authors - thanks for helping me find new authors/novels! (I’ll have to read both of these too)
“Why are they bombing us??”
“They told us this was a safe zone!”
“They told us to come here, so why are they bombing us!?”
This woman just like many Gazans went to seek safety in Rafah but Israel is carpet bombing it as we speak.
My GP has lost my blood after I’ve had a blood test, they have no idea what’s happened to it. That’s mad enough, but this is the second time this has happened in my life - with a separate GP surgery. Who is stealing my blood and can you please stop ffs.
Gaza is now flooded due to Israel shutting down the sewage system.
We are witnessing yet another phase of this genocide. Starvation, infection, and diseases.
Just because you've stopped talking about it doesn't mean it isn't happening.
my baby cousins. their names are razan and nouran allouh. israeli tanks shot at and killed them while they were trying to fill a bucket with water inside the gates of their home. my uncle ahmad allouh, their father, went and lay between their bodies before he was shot and killed.
