Welcome to the first-ever #NonSequiturTournament! The are no seeds or rankings or names for regions that make any logical sense because it's all about non sequiturs! And it's all about fun!
@LizSchwindMath If you're the lovely Miss Mastalio that went to kindergarten at Mark Twain elem, I'd love to send you a whole bunch. DM me an address for your school. (Even if I wasn't your kinder teacher, I'd still love to send some your way.)
Today I returned to a classroom for the first time in 9 years. Here's my win, "I was wondering if you had another copy of that read aloud book." Choosing read alouds... that's my secret super power.
'Hurry!' said Frog. 'We will run and catch it.'
'No!' shouted Toad. 'I cannot do that.'
'Why not?' asked Frog.
'Because,' wailed Toad, 'running after my list in not one of the things that I wrote on my list of things to do!'
Some of my favorite questions/prompts to add at the end of an assessment:
1) What is everything you know about this topic that the assessment may have hidden?
2) Show/tell me something that makes you feel awesome.
3) Take ten deep breaths and let this test go. You're awesome.
In technology today one of my students commented that "posting online is not seen by many strangers." If you see this, please like or retweet so I can show my students the (3-day) impact of posting online when we are back on Tuesday. Thank you! #teachertwitter
I was this kid. Today, I am thinking of all of the teachers out there starting a new school year. There are challenges, I know. But, because of you, countless kids will be saved this year. Perhaps one will write a book about you one day. A book about how *you changed* everything.
