Saint Paul: vote NO on both.
I joined elected and community leaders who are child care and voting rights champions today to talk about why Saint Paul residents should vote NO on both city ballot questions 1 and 2 this election cycle.
What we've learned from ESSR funding is that if the government wants to fund our schools they CAN! It's time to PERMANENTLY increase school funding and give our students and teachers the support they need! #FundOurSchools#FULLYFundOurSchools@SPFE28@EducationMN@AFTunion
Good morning from Lucy Laney Elementary! Today, educators, families, and community members across the country are walking IN to support full school funding. Stay tuned for more MFT educators telling legislators to #FundOurScbools! @ReclaimOurSchls@AFTunion#PublicSchoolStrong
School nurses, librarians, guidance counselors, social workers, music teachers, and more are necessary for every public school. Now is the time to fight for them and MFT educators are all in. #FundOurSchools@ReclaimOurSchls@AFTunion#PublicSchoolStrong
Because our schools aren’t adequately funded, Black, Brown, and disabled students are more likely to sit in crowded classrooms, have less access to courses, and have uncertified teachers. Funding Title I and IDEA could change that! #FundOurSchools@ReclaimOurSchls@AFTunion
"They’re creating a precedent that every bad school district and every bad corporation can look to and say, 'If the largest union in the country can do this to their workers, why can't we?'"

The uncaring cruelty of the @NEAToday over the last month is truly disgusting. These people are supposed to represent me and my fellow union members. This is not representation!!!! Settle with your workers and give them a fair contract! It's what EVERY union deserves.
We’ve entered Week 4 of NEA’s illegal lockout, the new school year is starting, and there are 98 days until Election Day.
It’s past time for @NEAToday to settle a fair contract that upholds union values and gets NEASO members and the nation’s largest labor union back to work.
MPD is not publishing police discipline records as required by a court enforced consent decree and city ordinance. "some cases not shown on the database were finalized as far back as May 2023."

I really wish AFT would be brave enough to stand up for the families of the students they serve and children across the world. How can our leadership continue to stay silent in the face of such absolute destruction?
Seven major unions just sent a joint letter to Biden calling on him to "immediately halt all military aid to Israel" ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington:
--SEIU
--NEA
--UAW
--UE
--APWU (postal workers)
--AFA (flight attendants)
--IUPAT (painters)
Yesterday was my 29th birthday, and I made a list of places to donate or volunteer in honor of/for my birthday. It's mostly for friends and family, but if anyone wants to celebrate with me by making our world a little better: https://t.co/EhvjQM9pfM
The City’s annual budget is $1.8 billion. For whatever reason, the Frey Administration insisted the only place they could find money to pay for the Police Federation contract — 22% raises for MPD — was by gutting critical unarmed public safety programs. I don’t buy it.
