My Mama suffered & died from stomach cancer two years ago. I took her to local hospitals & India. She passed away in Qatar on our way back. In honour of her memory, I will give to a Cancer Charity all the money Mutbaiga Country Club was ordered to pay me. The Medical Bills I paid for my mother were debilitating & I didn’t receive support from Government or anyone.

After writing about all the problems with #SmallClaimsCourt, I had to experience Dagoretti's Hon. Casmir Obiero. This man gets it.
Here are 5 things that stand out in his court:
1️⃣. 9am means 9am. No shuffling in 30 minutes late with excuses
2️⃣. Actually uses technology properly - types proceedings as he goes, checks CTS live instead of giving further mentions if the "file is not in court"
3️⃣. Treats everyone the same. Doesn't care if you're in a silk tie or jua-kali overall, you will get the same respect and patience. He also keeps things relaxed in his court which promotes conciliation.
4️⃣. Cuts through the legalese to find what the case is really about and pushes parties to settle when it makes sense. Gets to decisions fast
5️⃣. He goes above and beyond - in one session, he screen-shared to show people step-by-step how e-filing works.
Hon. Obiero is doing exactly what the Act intended: fast, simple and affordable justice.
KEG President Zubeidah Kananu: Stories about the beach and the ocean will sell.
We need to tackle misinformation about the marine world, simplify scientific knowledge, and introduce tools like a journalist’s handbook, and grants to support reporting.

Editors are in Kilifi for a 2-day sensitization workshop on the National Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) 🌊.
Organized by @KmfriResearch, the workshop aims to demystify the ocean space and blue economy agenda, and promote media partnerships and story ideas that enhance public awareness and participation in the MSP process.

@KEMFSED: The blue economy reminds us that our aquatic resources are not just vast—they are untapped opportunities for food security, trade, transport, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

@KEMFSED: We need to help Kenyans see the ocean, lakes, and rivers not only as sources of survival, but as spaces for investment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth.
The media is central in shaping public opinion, sparking curiosity, and encouraging investment in these marine opportunities.

In Kayole, Jennifer Michelle Achieng was killed by a teacher for not answering a question correctly. The other kids were given 30bob to keep quiet. I protested, got arrested,& taken to court.
New View Academy remained open. I used to go there everyday in the morning and remind parents their kids could be killed too. We took the case all the way to the Senate nothing ever happened.
They gave Jennifer's mum a job, my case for protesting was dropped last year, the school is operating under a new name.
She was only 8 years old.
We need your assistance in identifying these individuals. They were part of a state-hired militia that attacked people at the KHRC office yesterday during a press conference held by Kenyan mothers. The mothers were calling for an end to arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings that occur during protests. You can watch the CCTV footage here and assist in identifying others:

Peter Ayiro has for decades (yes, DECADES) preyed on Alliance Girls, sexually assaulting them, having inappropriate relationships with them in school and following it up after they leave, married his former student, and he thinks Ivy Wangechi brought 'shame' to her school
The Guild was created to support women media leaders, and moments like this remind us why that support is so crucial. When one of us is targeted for her work, it affects us all. #Journalismisnotacrime
