A Black woman in Mississippi reported her son missing and went 7 months with police telling her they couldn’t find him.
She sent them photos, begged for updates, and implored them to put his story on the news.
It turns out they knew where he was all along. An hour after he left his house he was struck and killed on the highway by an off duty police officer.
They hid his body in the morgue for months without ever notifying his family despite there being a prescription bottle with his name on it found at the scene.
Then they buried him in a pauper’s field with nothing but a number identifying him as corpse # “672”.

This is why I tell journalism students that open-ended questions are better than questions that sound tough. When conservatives first hijacked “woke,” every journalist should have asked them to define it. Cause these meltdowns would have happened a lot.
State Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-OK) has penned several bills loosening gun restrictions, including the nation’s first anti-red flag law. He thinks these bills protect the Second Amendment – and that they make us safer. We think it's probably one or the other. Watch it on @AppleTVPlus.
New: South Carolina Republicans have introduced a bill that would allow women to be executed if they have an abortion. The bill is also vague enough to potentially include miscarriages. https://t.co/EMaeJz9EA3
Police have killed at least 828 people nationwide through September 12 2022, continuing to exceed past levels of deadly police violence. https://t.co/0VQVssR82S
Slavery, segregation, voting rights, gerrymandering and abortion all have one thing in common:
“States rights.”
Since the first draft of the constitution, “Leave it up to the states” has been code for “Leave it up to the racists.”
The fact that so many people are saying "you can still wear masks on a plane if you want to" as if it's an issue of personal risk tolerance, when the whole point of masks is to keep OTHER PEOPLE SAFE... is a succinct case study in why we fail.
We literally went from a panicky “KN95 masks are the only safe masks in this pandemic!! No cloth masks!!!” to a “lol u don’t need a mask, ur fine” in a span of like 2 weeks…it’s so ratchet out here

You can't love and admire Assata without loving and admiring Sundiata Acoli. Sundiata will be 85 on Jan. 14th and has spent nearly 50 years in prison from his arrest w/ Assata on the NJ turnpike. A Panther, freedom fighter, writer and a Political Prisoner. Free Em All.
Along with everything else, Sinema, who did not swear her oath of office with a Bible and may be the only member of Congress to state she is religiously unaffiliated, now is wearing a cross?
I want everybody to remember that the Supreme Court has said the government doesn't have the authority to make people wear a mask when it later says it *does* have the authority to force women to give birth against their will.
Stay indoors. But also return in person. Wear a mask. Not that one. The expensive one, that you can’t find. Take rapid tests. Which you also can’t find. But if you find them, don’t buy them. Rapid tests don’t work. You need PCR. There are zero appointments in your area.
