Framer's homepage no longer says "website builder" It says "design agent" Cutting out human labor is how you justify funding these days. Designers are obsolete, apparently, and they're only just starting to take the hint

After a lot of thought, I've decided to step away from Framer templates.

I wanted to give it as much time as possible, but despite the changes, things have never recovered since the new marketplace.

Template sales have dropped by over 70% (-$30,000/m) and is getting worse month on month and as we've seen on X over the last few months, the alignment with the creators has shifted too.

So I've had to make the decision to move on.

It's a sad way to end after 3 years, especially considering how creator-centric Framer were, but that's business.

1-2 years ago nearly every website project we took was built on Framer or Webflow.

this year we've only had 3-4. everything else has been Next.js and Sanity.

we even had to let our full-time Framer developer go.

people are valuing performance, flexibility, and full ownership. the demand just isn't there anymore.
