Israel Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Had Hamas killers not taken back some 240 hostages to their subterrain headquarters beneath hospitals, mosques, and schools, most would now have been destroyed by IDF. That reality explains Hamas gunmen’s carefully planned and massive captive taking, given their otherwise natural druthers is to kill and mutilate anyone they find inside Israel.
When Ghazi Hamad, the deputy foreign minister for Hamas, boasted that Hamas killing would continue after October 7 on “October 10, October 1,000,000” etc., and added of the planned serial murdering, “everything we do is justified”, he knew that only the grabbing of hundreds of hostages—the more elderly, the younger, and the more made orphans the better—could guarantee a reprieve for his suddenly trapped and terrified terrorists.
Now what?
Israel distinguishes itself as the sole guarantor of Jewish life. Historically it has paid a steep price to free all captives taken by Palestinian terrorist groups—a fact accepted in the Middle East that, it also concedes, ensures the continuance of such brutal kidnapping.
Israel expects that Hamas will seek to parcel out hostages for weeks, with fewer freed and longer pauses demanded during each brokered release. Meanwhile, the terrorists regroup, blend in with “innocent” civilians, and expect the world to forget October 7, and instead acculturate to Hamas’s current victimhood rather than its mass murdering.
Israel knows that diplomats are surreally already treating the Hamas killers as legitimate negotiators if not brokers of “peace”—as if Hamas was a state and no longer a death cult, as if it was a victim rather than a bloodstained victimizer.
When the Secretary-General of the UN contextualizes October 7, when Iran is the new chair nation of the UN human rights forum, when pro-terrorist demonstrators in Europe and the U.S. think they own the streets, when rioting high-school students in Queens hunt down a Jewish teacher as if she were some animal prey, then Israel accepts a 1930s-like world gone completely unhinged.
Israel likely also knows that Biden will eventually wilt (he just apologized for accurately dismissing Hamas as untruthful)—especially given the pro-Hamas sympathies of the new Democratic Party, of his own White House staff, and of the Obama puppeteers, all of whom do not show much anger that Hamas has murdered 31 fellow Americans and taken 10 hostages.
So amid the metering out of hostages, Israel somehow has to find a brief window for dramatic action to finish off Hamas—before its arms-supplying Americans begin to hint “no more”, and the “moderate” Arab countries become exasperated due to the continued survival of Hamas remnants. But if the DIF can destroy Hamas, an amoral world will at least respect its strength, won’t be sorry to see the humiliating end of Hamas, and so will move on.
So not everything is bleak. Israel perhaps can use this coerced pause—and the likely Hamas bartering to extend it—as a planning and intelligence precursor to a devastating renewal of its prior efforts. But the moment a pause ends, it must act quickly and overwhelmingly, given the work of Hamas apologists, the fickle current administration, the pro-Hamas media—and a mad, mad world.

Jamie Dimon is as out of touch on America as it comes & his speech on the American dream is a reality that died for most decades ago.
I get in Lyft’s and the drivers are working 3 extra hours driving after their two job shifts just to put food on the table. Bartenders trying to get by on $35K when cost of living doubled or more in the last year. People unable to afford basic daycare for their children or unable to afford the gift of having a child at all. Polluted & crooked mindsets about both genders permeate society from 19 year olds to 45 year olds. Baby boomers hoard more and more assets sweeping up things with cash funded by taxpayer welfare & zero rates through the last two economic cycles. The dream of buying a home has vanished for 80% of the population. They flooded the workforce supply & wages have been stagnant in real terms for decades forcing two income households. Morons on here parrot the talking points of CEOs that they’re lucky to have their job and be life or death on paycheck to paycheck never knowing what the next day holds. Eye watering debt levels. Many people really are dead in the eyes as @RobertMSterling pointed out weeks ago. We have lost the plot.
A recession could be America’s last chance for a final cultural revival.
The country is dying in every way.
(In the literal sense - highest suicides ever in a single year), birthrate collapsing, apathy towards the future, nuclear family dead, consumer addiction, biggest wealth gap in human history, education attainment level for young men collapsing & many have checked out forever.
Billionaires like Munger and Buffet tell us we’ve got it better than ever! (You can order sushi at home from a 1099 slave contracted by a company that doesn’t even make a profit). Survey the population. Give me a break.
Maybe I’m just outdated and what I want is a relic of the past. Sure, maybe there’s nothing we can do at all to stop the seemingly permanent trajectory towards decline in the end, but I’d sure as hell love to see one last hurrah.
@MattyChucks Just nothing happens when u hit the Create Account bar at the bottom. Tried 5 times...maybe I am doing something stupid. Also, what promo code should be used, if any?
