@haroldcook1953@stockton_townfc So sorry to hear that you are calling it a day Harry. I know the feeling, as I have not been able to attend a Bishops' game since October following knee-replacement surgery, although I do hope to get back again next season.
This week’s guest at Sporting Memories needs no introduction. Legendary Newcastle United skipper and Scotland international Bob Moncur joins us at the Vest Construction Stadium, tomorrow morning.
It’s a 10:30am start so see you there.

Enjoyable afternoon with former Hartlepool player - and fans' favourite - Brian Honour at Sporting Memories @bishopafc . @SportsMemNet Read more on https://t.co/HzkeGMMaTK
Sporting Memories is back this week and it’s a different day and time 🚨
It’s today at 2pm and we see former Hartlepool playing legend Brian Honour as our special guest. Brian knows the northeast football scene very well so it’s fair to say there will be no shortage of stories.
See you at the Vest Construction Stadium, Bishop Auckland FC.
@MikeAmosBlog It was always a pleasure to play Haughton CC, especially when Norman was playing. He was certainly a player to remember and we had many a 'tussle' with both bat and ball, and exchanged a few stories after the games.
A brilliant session with Durham’s Alan Walker today at @SportsMemNet and a great insight into the mind set of a successful sportsman.
Alan has enjoyed a successful career and it is easy to see why! Superb – thank you Alan.

A male siskin has been visiting my feeders for a couple of weeks now. Today, he brought a couple of friends. Goldfinches and greenfinches in attendance too.
@bishopafc Henry had a great game for us at Redcar, on January 29th, 2022, but unfortunately, was unable to keep out the 90+5 minute 'unnecessary' penalty, that saw Redcar Athletic tie the game with the last kick of the match.
This is a fantastic image from the Newcastle Journal – Saturday 25th February 1956 and it’s an Amateur Cup tie at Ferryhill Athletic’s Darlington Road ground.
Supporters cleared nine (9) inches of snow off the pitch so the game could go ahead. All three of Bishops’ deadly strike force are in the picture – from left to right.
Derek Lewin, Ray Oliver and Seamus O’Connell, and it was the latter who scored the only goal for Bishops.
Well done to the pupils of #Staindrop Academy for collecting a record number of items to make up Christmas hampers for vulnerable people. A joy at this time of year to write about how much local schools do for their local communities.
