The Digger speech is inverting the logic of “there is no ethical consumption under capitalism” a true statement which is meant not to prove that consumers are unethical but that the system makes ethical consumption an impossibility and says “well actually it is consumers fault”
"sure, his cat might’ve been his whole life, sure, he was uncultivated, a vulgarian, but he was also composed. it's frightening. a seductive psychopath. he wasn't some kind of a clown." #digger
Don't think DIGGER is a movie that needs to say something specific about the environment as much as it one about feeling frustrated and hopeless about seeing the world crumble in front of your very eyes and not being able to do anything but keep creating art.
Digger is not about how films don’t change anything or satire is pointless.
It makes a point for art is a unifying element in society. It bridges time and brings people together in the present.
Will art stop powerful people from abusing their power? No. But that doesn’t mean it’s without function.
I see a lot of the “pointlessness of art” takes. But that’s not all the film says and it’s certainly not what Iñárritu has described in interviews.
Unfortunately for y’all, Digger is the only truly and unabashedly critical piece of media we’ve had in decades and the entire premise is that maybe we need to stop taking these things seriously and actually start doing something before it’s all gone
Anyways movies are back baby!
People think the minions router being baller as a joke. But I have extensively tested it and it is one of the best possible Wifi 6E routers money can buy. Like someone at Illumination Studios was like "idk $80" and the router manufacturer was like gotchu fam.
I don’t care how unwoke this makes me sound I’ve thought this for years . So many people exacerbate real problems by entering a psychosomatic feedback loop that makes them feel way worse than whatever condition they have
"I HAVE to be reading the synopsis of the movie while it’s happening otherwise I just won’t understand it, that’s how my brain works" I don't think that's ADHD, I think you might actually be stupid.
