If Democrats want to appeal to Christian family values voters, they must nominate a candidate who has been married three times, slept with a porn star while his wife was pregnant, sexually assaulted 27 women, and was best friends with the world’s most notorious pedophile.
Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
the issue isn’t Berhalter or Vlatko, it isn’t Anson-ball or the college game
imo, the (main) issue is that those responsible for the performance of the national teams have nothing to do with how these players are developed - specifically on the female side
We need to stop pretending that everyone is Elite in everything

As a coach, I was taught how to evolve from being a transactional coach to a transformational coach
A players coach
How to put players needs 1st
Now, we are moving into an era of the transactional player & it’s sad
Rarely a day goes by where I don’t think, wow, most organizations entrusted with football development don’t understand football development, themselves.
Millions are thrown at the top end trying to raise the ceiling, (Elites), when it’s the floor that needs elevating (Grassroots). This is where the 99% that will never become professionals push the 1% to be their best. Organic development, unforced.
Billions are poured into the Football Industry and little improvement shown in bridging the massive disparity gap between the best and the less developed countries in the world. They hand out Awards to the countries that hold the most Football Festivals which are basically a pack of little 6yr olds chasing a ball in a Sponsored event which is sold as Football Development.
Most of the youngest aged kids teams are coached by volunteer, often inexperienced parent coaches. Meanwhile the older group Coaches with their coaching licenses and curriculums await a tsunami of kids that come to them having never developed the basic building blocks to learn the most complex difficult skills and components of player development.
Perhaps if the Football World turned the Pyramid upside down, ensuring there was a solid Foundation in place before unleashing this avalanche of Licensing and Diploma programing, we’d see a paradigm shift in the disparity that never seems to go away.
It’s easier for a Futsal player to transition to field ⚽️ instead of the other way around.
Do you want the 🇺🇸 to start developing better soccer players?
Make Futsal popular in this country from ages 5-12, add it to elementary schools, have MLS academies expand with free Futsal programs at those ages(it’s cheaper than a regular field), have more public futsal courts.
If that happened this decade, you’d see a massive jump in the quality of future USMNT 🇺🇸 generations.
I wish less people glorified accomplishing things before 30. More exploring. More starting over at 40. More finding your true passion at 50. More moving across the country at 60. People get complacent because they think life has a time limit.
It doesn't.
Celebrate lifelong evolution.

One of the best pieces of wisdom from @MikeCoppola17
"soccer owes you nothing"
How many people are playing just for the sake of playing? Not to get something out of it. Just because they love it. Truly. No strings.
The Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes has said that she believes football has a problem with body-shaming and praised the bravery of Fran Kirby, who admitted she felt “fat” after abuse from online trolls.

Celebrated Hunter College professor Rosalind Petchesky was arrested at a sit-in organized by Jewish American activists from @jvplive in New York City.
"I am older than the state of Israel," she told Democracy Now! "That's why we're here, to say 'not in our name.'"
It's easy to SEE the unicorn, and that's why Busquets is picked as an example.
An enormous number of top center mids - historic and current - would be deemed as not big, fast, or strong enough by the American monoculture to play in "the engine room".
But folks have to know football a bit further than the superficial to see that.
The fact that Busquets looks like he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights while wandering the Gobi desert, is the perfect case to teach the untrained eye to begin the journey of understanding a deeper principle.
The key, of course, is humility and wanting to learn.
