Just had a Labour woman canvassing at my door. “Hello Madam, can I ask if you’ll be voting for us next week?”
“No. I’m a Green supporter.”
“Oh. Can I ask why?”
“Yes I’m trans. Labour are removing our rights and have nothing but contempt for us. Unlike the Greens who support us. You hate us.”
“Oh why do say that? We don’t hate you.”
“Really? Ban on puberty blockers day one of Government, segregation in hospitals, at least 50 dead trans kids due to Wes Streeting running a conversion therapy operation in the NHS, umpteen bans that restrict a normal life, Keir inviting the biggest funder of trans hate for a private chat, jail in a male prison if we kiss a c!s person, a Prime Minister who says he doesn’t think women who are trans are women - and who welcomed the removal of our legal recognition, and an education minister who thinks women and children must be protected from us.”
She turned on her heels and left smirking.

@Spoon_68@IndiaWilloughby@nhsfife@wesstreeting@UKLabour You are dreaming if you think the NHS provides such a bespoke service as choosing make or female doctors regardless of bias. You might as well try to stipulate who treats you based on race. You’d be quickly ejected!
@MrJamesMay Casual homophobia has been standard in my lifetime. You @MrJamesMay have perhaps unconsciously (I’m being kind) picked up on the active anti LGBTQ+ zeitgeist permeating current media. Waiting for your next post where you burn the flags a la Laurence Fox. Enjoy your high horse
@aryddaear@CllrMcHuntSNP@MaggieChapman It most be so exciting for you to feel you have a ‘cause’. You are a copycat TERF who clearly has never had a life 😂. History will judge and laugh at you
The regret rate of gender-affirming surgery is 0.3%.
The regret rate for knee replacement surgery is 6-30%.
"Transition regret" is a false narrative being pushed by the media to prevent people from getting access to life-saving, gender-affirming healthcare.
However...
Let's address that 0.3%.
Many outside factors contribute to a trans person's regret:
👉Unsupportive families.
👉Transphobic environments.
👉Normal post-op distress.
Just because that 0.3% of people regret their surgery doesn't mean they're not transgender.
The fear of regret shouldn't stop thousands of trans people from getting access to the healthcare they deserve.
Regret rates exist - but not for the reasons the media are trying to push.
Why do some gay men get married? Homophobia
Why do some gay & bi men hide their whole lives? Homo/biphobia
They made the choices you forced them to and then when they come out or are forced out what do you do, blame them. That’s also homophobia.
I want to wish everyone at London Trans Pride today a joyful, safe and empowering day.
It's never been more important to support trans people, who are being stigmatised and placed at the heart of a toxic culture war.
As your Mayor, I will always be on your side.🏳️⚧️
I thought Jenrick's order to paint over murals designed to make kids feel more welcome at asylum centres was grotesque. Really fucking awful.
And then I read this, and understood that this is a place for children arriving on their own, and I want to cry for what we've become.
