Relativizimi dhe normalizimi i një prej krimeve më të rënda kundër njerëzimit, krime të dënuara nga historia, nga drejtësia ndërkombëtare dhe nga vetë ndërgjegjja njerëzore, bien ndesh me vlerat mbi të cilat është ndërtuar #Evropa e sotme. Askush nuk mund të ndërtojë #besim duke rikthyer hijet më të errëta të së kaluarës, aq më pak duke lartësuar politika dhe figura që mbajnë përgjegjësi për tragjedi, vuajtje dhe krime që kanë lënë gjurmë të thella në historinë e rajonit tonë sic është "kasapi i #Ballkanit".

Procesi i normalizimit dhe i pajtimit, për të cilin Kosova, Serbia dhe i gjithë rajoni ynë kanë aq shumë nevojë, kërkon para së gjithash #përgjegjësi, #reflektim dhe #guxim për t’u përballur me të kaluarën.

Ai nuk mund të ndërtohet kurrë mbi deklarata që justifikojnë apo lartësojnë politikat që sollën aq shumë dhimbje e shkatërrim, por vetëm e vetëm mbi të #vërtetën, #respektin për viktimat dhe angazhimin e sinqertë për një të ardhme të përbashkët #evropiane.

Hosting the Alliance's leaders is both a great honour and a profound responsibility, one that Albania is ready to assume with pride and determination. Above all, it is a clear recognition of our country's unwavering commitment to our shared values, Euro-Atlantic security, and collective defence.

Nënvizova se bashkëpunimi, solidariteti dhe fryma vëllazërore e besimit mes nesh janë vlera të çmuara që nuk mund dhe nuk duhet të cenohen nga askush, aq më pak nga ata që kërkojnë të shfrytëzojnë çdo mundësi për të nxitur ndasi e përçarje. Following its endorsement by the #AFET Committee in May, the European Parliament @Europarl_EN adopted today the EU accession #progress report on Albania with an overwhelming majority. 🇦🇱🇪🇺

With 483 votes in favour out of 656 Members voting, representing nearly 74% support, the Parliament has once again reaffirmed its strong backing for #Albania’s EU accession path and recognised the substantial progress our country has achieved across key reform areas.

This is yet another important vote of confidence in Albania’s European future and in the transformation driven by years of determined reforms and hard work.

The message is clear: Albania’s European journey is advancing, our reform efforts are producing tangible results, and our objective of joining the European Union is both realistic and within reach.

Our sincere thanks go to the European Parliament, to Rapporteur @SCHIEDER, and to all those who continue to champion a credible, fair, and merit-based enlargement process.

Of course, much work still lies ahead. That is precisely the purpose of the accession negotiations: to continue delivering the reforms necessary to meet the standards of membership and ensure lasting transformation.

We remain fully committed to maintaining the current momentum, accelerating reforms, concluding accession negotiations by 2027, and achieving full EU membership by 2030.

Finally, great news!

The successful conclusion of negotiations on the gradual elimination of #roaming charges between the European Union and the #WesternBalkans is set to deliver one of the most tangible and meaningful benefits of European integration for citizens and businesses alike.

This achievement will enhance connectivity, facilitate travel and communication, strengthen people-to-people contacts, and create new opportunities for trade, investment, and economic cooperation across Europe. It is also expected to provide a significant boost to mobility and #tourism, particularly in #Albania, by making travel more convenient, affordable, and accessible for millions of European visitors.

More than a technical accomplishment, it represents a concrete step towards the gradual integration of the Western Balkans into the EU Single Market and a more connected #European space. It demonstrates how the enlargement process can generate real and immediate benefits for citizens, even before accession.

Bringing the Western Balkans closer to the European Union must be reflected not only through policies and institutions, but also through practical improvements that people can experience in their everyday lives. Lower communication costs, greater mobility, and stronger regional and European links are clear examples of how integration delivers tangible results.

These commitments were at the heart of today’s discussions at the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, where leaders reaffirmed their shared determination to accelerate the region’s gradual integration into the European Union through concrete measures that bring citizens and businesses closer together.

A stronger partnership between the European Union and the Western Balkans is an investment not only in the region’s future, but also in Europe’s security, competitiveness, resilience, and cohesion. This is European integration at its best: delivering concrete benefits where they matter most—in the daily lives of our citizens.

A big step forward for Albania on its path to EU membership!

With Albanian Prime Minister @ediramaal and Cypriot Deputy Minister for European Affairs @marilena_raouna in Brussels today, Albania reached the interim benchmarks, and we set the closing benchmarks for fundamentals such as an independent judiciary and anti-corruption measures.

This is a major milestone as it allows #Albania to start closing negotiating chapters.

Now begins the most demanding phase of the negotiations, preparing to join the Union, and further build the trust with Member States.

Very pleased to meet in #Prague with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade–Prishtina Dialogue, Peter Sørensen @EUSR_Dialogue, on the margins of the #GLOBSEC Forum.

I expressed our appreciation for the European Union’s continued engagement and sustained support for democratic consolidation, institutional strengthening, rule of law reforms, and economic development in the Republic of Kosova.

#Kosova remains firmly anchored on its European path, clearly oriented toward EU integration and fully aligned with the European Union Common Foreign and Security Policy. Albania believes that this consistent commitment deserves proper recognition and should be met with the granting of EU candidate country status to Kosovo, an important and encouraging political signal for its citizens and for the broader European future of the region.

Continued engagement by the EU and the #EUSR remains essential, and Albania fully supports these efforts. Building and sustaining trust between the parties is fundamental to the success of the #Dialogue. In this context, I reiterated the importance of ensuring full accountability for the attack in Banjska, essential for strengthening security, trust, and stability in the region.

I also reiterated that the Dialogue remains the only viable path toward the full #normalization of relations between Kosova and Serbia, representing an essential contribution to a new chapter in relations between the two #neighbouring countries, and to lasting peace, stability, and cooperation across the wider region.

#Albania will continue to strongly support this process and remains ready to contribute constructively.

Today at the @NATO Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers in #Helsingborg, I reaffirmed Albania's unwavering commitment to NATO values, strengthening the transatlantic link and to increasing defence investment, in line with Allied commitments.

Our 2026 defence budget represents the most ambitious level of investment since Albania joined the Alliance, contributing to stronger national capabilities and collective security.

I reiterated our full support for #Ukraine as a cornerstone of European security and the continuation of assistance through NATO mechanisms. In this context, I informed Allies that on 12 June, I will co-host in Tirana, together with Minister @andrii_sybiha, the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Ministerial Meeting, an important platform to strengthen political dialogue, enhance regional coordination, and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, security, and stability in Europe.

I also stressed the importance of a 360-degree approach to #security, strengthening cooperation with Euro-Atlantic partners, and maintaining a strong focus on stability in the Middle East and the #WesternBalkans. Albania remains fully engaged in supporting regional stability, including through Allied discussions on the future of #KFOR and #NATO's cooperation with #Kosovo.

As we move toward the NATO Summit in #Ankara in July 2026, I underscored the importance and the significance of holding the following NATO #Summit in #Tirana, which will represent a historic milestone for the region and a strong signal of the Alliance’s enduring commitment to the Western Balkans.

📍#Bratislava: The High-Level Meeting of the Group of “Friends of the Western Balkans” reaffirmed a clear and shared understanding: the integration of the #WesternBalkans into the European Union is no longer simply a long term aspiration: it is a geostrategic necessity for a stronger, safer and more united #Europe.

For Albania, the national goal of joining the EU within this decade is not just a wish, a mere political objective even less so a slogan. It is a national objective, a working deadline and our top strategic mission.🇦🇱🇪🇺

I underlined Albania’s firm commitment to advancing reforms, strengthening democratic institutions and the rule of law, fully aligning with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, and contributing actively to regional stability and European security.

Albania is earning EU membership with reforms and with a clear mindset, acting already as a future Member State.

Our discussions focused on gradual integration, regional cooperation and security as key and pressing issue at the heart of the enlargement process. In an increasingly challenging geopolitical environment, #enlargement must remain credible, merit-based, predictable and anchored in tangible results for our citizens.

While differentiation based on merit is legitimate, with the understanding that countries that move faster on reforms earn to advance faster towards accession, it is important to make sure no country in the region feels abandoned or strategically disconnected from the European process.

I expressed our gratitude to Minister Juraj Blanar and to all “Friends of the Western Balkans” for keeping #enlargement high on the EU agenda, and encouraged them to engage into strategic communication. At a time when Europe faces complex security, economic and geopolitical challenges, completing the unification of Europe is not only in the interest of the #WesternBalkans, it is in the strategic interest of the EU itself. Countries that have joined the EU before have a story to tell: it is a story of success, growth, peace and prosperity.

Everyone agrees that the future of the Western Balkans is in the European Union. But the time to move forward together, with conviction and resolve, is now.

This is what #Albania is doing, with purpose, clarity and conviction.

In Albania, I had an informative flyover tour of the Kucova Air Base from Defense Minister Ermal Nufi. 🇦🇱 is increasingly capable in cyber defense, committed to the Board of Peace and International Stabilization Force in Gaza, and more. Discussing with Prime Minister Rama, and his team, I emphasized that we look forward to seeing what more can be achieved for military mobility once Albania meets President Trump’s 5% GDP defense spending goal.
