زي النهارده من تلات سنين بالضبط، شفت حوار على تلفزيون الاشتراكي لباحثة وكاتبة سودانية شابة اسمها مزن النيل، أعجبت بكلامها المهم والصادق واللي ساعدني أفهم بعض ما يحدث في السودان الحبيب واللي كنا بننظر لتجربته بإعجاب ومحبة، ثم أدمى قلوبنا ما جرى له وفيه، اتصلت بالصديق حسام هلالي وطلبت منه يوصلني بيها، وتواصلت معاها وطلبت استضافتها على قناتي لعل ما أطرحه من أسئلة يساعد متابعي القناة على فهم ما يجري في السودان بعيون حد متخصص ومقيم في السودان، ولما سألتها عن الوقت المناسب لإجراء الحوار كتبت: "ممكن العصر بتوقيت الخرطوم، ده أقل وقت بيكون في أصوات قصف وبرضو بيكون في شوية ضو لو الكهربا قطعت"، وصعقني الرد العادي وخلاني أفهم خطورة الوضع، ومع إني عادة ما بابعتش الأسئلة للي هاحاوره عشان يكون الحوار في عفوية، لكني بعثت لها الأسئلة بالتفصيل لإنها قالت لي إن خطورة الوضع هتخليها متوترة وهي بتتكلم فممكن ما تركزش مع تعالي أصوات القصف، واتربكت واعتذرت لها لإني أصلا باطلب منها حوار في ظروف زي دي لإني ما كنتش متخيل الحالة بهذا الشكل، وتشجعت لما لقيتها مهتمة توصل صوتها لناس كتير خصوصا في مصر حست إنهم فاهمين الوضع بشكل أدى لردود أفعال خاطئة، وعملنا الحوار وكانت مزن النيل كعادتها رائعة وصادقة وكلامها موزون، وتشرفت بحواري معاها وكسبتها صديقة افتراضية، أطمئن عليها بعد ما اضطرت للخروج من الخرطوم وراحت بورسودان أو على رأيها في رسالة "بنحاول نتحرك نحو المستقبل"، وهي محاولات لم يكن أحد من أهل السودان ومحبيه يتصور أنها ستكون بهذه الصعوبة والخطورة.
من كذا شهر بعثت لي مزن النيل رسالة متوسمة خيرا في أرشيفي وقالت لي: "بافتش على أرشيف مجلتين مصريات اسمهم القلم والرسالة، حسب كلام أبوي، جدي محمد أحمد النيل نشر فيهم مقالات ربما في الخمسينات أو الستينات، وبنحاول نلاقي مقالاته هدية لعيد ميلاد بابا لا أخفيك سرا، لقينا أرشيف الرسالة أونلاين لكن ما لقينا المقالات، أما مجلة القلم فما لقينا أي ذكر ليها". بدا لي إن الرسالة اللطيفة فيها محاولة تعايش مع صعوبة المستقبل اللي بيبعد أكتر كل شوية، وبدا لي كمان جانب جميل من روح مزن اللطيفة ومن ميراثها الأسري الجميل، وحاولت أساعد في تحقيق طلبها لكن لما فشلنا في العثور على المقالات نسيت أسألها جابت إيه هدية لعيد ميلاد باباها، ومن كام أسبوع قابلت باحث سوداني صديق والكلام جاب بعضه فافتكرت طلب مزن وسألته عن الموضوع، فوعدني بالرجوع لأرشيف جامعة برينستون وقلت يعني هيبقى جميل لو لقاها قبل عيد ميلاد باباها الجاي.
النهارده صحيت على خبر رحيل مزن النيل الفاجع فتذكرت سؤال سيد حجاب المؤلم والمتكرر: "الحزن في القلب ياه.. لابِد ما بيفوته.. أحسن ولاد الحياة ليه بدري بيموتوا؟".
ألف رحمة ونور عليكي يا مزن النيل يا جميلة، وربنا يصلح حال السودان ويعجل لأهله بالخلاص، ويجمعك بجدك في جنة الخلد ويصبر أهلك وحبايبك على هذا الفراق الأليم.
