Post-Doctoral Position in our research group #FOTOHET (1-2 years), @navalon_sergio, #depqim, @UPV, @ITQ_UPVCSIC, (Valencia , Spain) about Photo(electro)catalysis for Solar Fuels generation from CO2
Great @methasol consortium meeting in Fuzhou (China) 2024. As coordinator I would like to remark the great science within the project and excellent international cooperation with our chinese partners. Thanks a lot for the very warm reception and better hospitality. @UPV, #depqim
And I spent countless hours on data collection during postdoc. My electrochemical experiments, with epitaxial films and in situ microscopy, were very complex. Troubleshooting took months sometimes.
In 4 years, I collected enough data for 2 first-author papers and one second-author paper.
It took another 1-2 years AFTER postdoc to write the stories and publish in situ studies (2 papers). The topic is complex, the data is vast and the 'research picture' was foggy at the beginning.
And I consider myself lucky!
Because 2+1 is a LOT of papers from a postdoc where we have to break the heavy walls of science into the unknown territory.
Perhaps there are cases when it's easy to write many papers.
But my guess is that those fields are either underdeveloped (easy to make simple contributions without digging too deep) or have strange standards of publishing & quality control (as in the electrocatalysis field where trash is getting published everyday).
In either case, history shows that very few studies stand the test of time and become true milestones in science.
Focus on making yours stay alive in 20 years from now.
