Charizard vs Magmar. Had to bring that iconic volcano battle into Pokémon Emerald 🔥
Flamethrowers now collide and explode. Then comes Seismic Toss.
All running inside the GBA ROM. A little anime footage to show the inspiration behind this.
Huge thanks to @didier_lopes for coding Seismic Toss. childhood me wouldn't believe this
my little pokémon project made it to dexerto. what is happening 😭
i just wanted real time battles in emerald, now we’ve got midbattle evolution, destructible arenas and people building wild stuff on top of it.
we’re just getting started.
I remember the anti-AI Reddit cope at the start of vibe coding “in 12 months they’ll scramble to hire senior devs to fix the mess!!”
Well turns out you’re the one that left a mess that we can now fix
The future of QA?
Had to try this myself.
A fresh @omarchy VM boots in ~10 seconds. An agent takes over through Mola MCP: opens the browser, downloads a spreadsheet, fills it out in Calc, checks the math, renames it, moves it and reopens it to make sure everything was saved.
Then deletes the entire VM.
That machine’s entire life was one QA test.
The agent moves between the browser, desktop apps and file manager like a person sitting at a computer. @dhh’s Omarchy + @obaid’s Mola feels ridiculously natural for this.
QEMU + Omarchy + Mola MCP. All running locally on a Mac, starting from a prepared image.
Big Omarchy QA News:
The Headline:
* Omarchy QA will start running against nightly every day. Still some huge hurdles to figure out, but that is the fun stuff.
The Meat:
Omarchy QA is going slower than I hoped for, but its getting into place. This is my second fully running agent test harness where they decide what is good.
* A nice running dashboard with cancellable states
* Jobs, suites, servers: have all the possible states and transitions you would expect from build servers. This part was the most surprising as it is really in depth how much effort you have to spend thinking about every possibility
* suite states, live updating website that ... runs fast? Yes I did something crazy... I made a cache, i know, actual crime...
** I even have an idea to make this load instant for every single user, and make updating cache contents LIGHTNING fast...
*** Fun side note. WTF ARE YOU DOING EVERYONE, WEBSITES ARE FUN TO MAKE FAST AND YOU ALL ARE MAKING HORESHIT SITES... STOP.
* ability to follow live running jobs and cancel them
The sad part is I have had no time to get the actual custom harness running fast, which is ok, but its hard. Now, starting today, I am going to be hooking up nightly builds and actually running this against production!
Will think about how to make this a public site, but for now, its private :(

Of course it can. Take all 100,000+ games on steam, scrape their descriptions and metadata, semantically plot them in vector space using embeddings, mathematically choose a location in vector space far away from neighbors, convert that back to a description and metadata, boom, brand new ideas ranked by how unlike any other ideas they are.
Got the original GTA Vice City running natively on my AYN Thor through reVC.
Physical controls, Tommy Vercetti, the whole city in my hands. There goes my afternoon lol 🌴
The people constantly using “vibecoder” as an insult usually build nothing themselves.
Just bitter people taking shots at those who do.
Pretty reliable mediocrity detector.
one of the things i’m most obsessed with right now is how software in the ai era can create entirely new forms of connection, community, & coordination rather than productivity focused utilitarian experiences. this goes entirely against chris dixon’s famous framing of come for utility & stay for the network cuz almost all utilities can now be generated on demand. & often the generated personal ones are better than the one size fits all.
obviously so are others w/ personal agents (which i have written about extensively) but there are i think fun new mechanics that were never possible before that could have just a ripple effects if they work.
& no i am not talking about invites etc.
