@dovebyler@faken_john Again… it’s a concept that can be applied to them regardless if it was significant in their relationship or not, that’s not me claiming that it was because I know it wasn’t, I never said it was as equally important 😭
@dovebyler@faken_john I fear that is not what I was saying on the first part, I am saying it’s not crazy to use the mage x paladin since she was referred to as the mage. Yes of course they could use other things such as variants but theres a difference between using fanmade ideas and actual canon ones
@dovebyler@faken_john And here are some pictures of the campaign archive book of their character sheets. As for the semiotic vocabulary, not sure what “other things” you’re referring to
@dovebyler@faken_john El has been referred to as the mage since season 2, so acting like the dynamic was made just to compete with Cleradin doesn’t make any sense. Two things can coexist without ulterior motives, using a framework doesn’t mean you own every single concept within it.
@dovebyler@faken_john I personally couldn’t care less about them, they are colors for gods sake. But also it is canon that El’s favorite colors are purple and yellow, and there was the instagram post about when blue and yellow meet in the west with mileven, but again I could care less about colors
@dovebyler@faken_john Whether D&D was a significant part of El’s relationship with mike has nothing to do with whether paladin/mage is a concept that can be applied to them. Nobody is claiming Mileven’s relationship was built around d&d, it is simply just a variant. As for the colors
@dovebyler@faken_john Nobody is saying characters can’t have traits or associations that make certain concepts fitting for them 😭 But D&D classes are existing concepts that nobody “owns.” Paladin/mage and paladin/cleric are also different dynamics, so using one doesn’t mean we’re taking the other
@dovebyler@faken_john Responding with those screenshots doesn’t disprove my point, you’re just deflecting instead of admitting your original statement was wrong lmao. Byler doesn’t own D&D classes or concepts, that’s like me saying you can’t draw lesbyler because lesmileven came before it.
when people realize you can dislike ships just because without needing some reason to make it morally bad is the day we’ll truly be free of like 80% of shipping discourse
@somphiey23@greenie2457 Do you know the difference between creating something and claiming we came up with it? Creating can mean producing your own version of a concept that already exists. They didn’t claim they invented any of those 😭😭😭
