In canada, for example, almost every card charges 2.5% FX fees, so using Uber's conversion will benefit most consumers

@levelsio Because it's an unimportant detail to their audience? I don't remember any airline advertising whatever satellite provider they use. Most of the time it's "sponsored" by some local telco even though it's Panasonic's service. It's really not that deep.

@IceSolst By only allowing protocols a middlebox can understand at layer 7+, filter and certify as "not a vpn" which not only would cause friendly fire but is also untenable because anywhere you can stuff bytes into a field, someone will figure out how to tunnel traffic through it.
