Glad to finally post a (quite long) 🧵on a new paper on reward credit cards, joint with @sumit_prof, @andrefjsilva & Carlo Wix #EconTwitter
@ObradFilip I guess we can reverse engineer a differential equation that would justify this...
Like f' = -f * (t-mu)/sigma
One might argue about why this should describe the process. Something like "the probability of transmitting covid is proportional to the time distance to the peak".
@nickchk It should be of factorial complexity.
Assuming that the complexity is exponential (weaker than it is), it should take 5.48*10^47 years to find the mean of 0:100, and exp(1311) this time for the mean of 0:1000.
More details to play with here:

@nickchk#Python
def smean(v):
l=len(v)
if l==1:
return(v[0])
if l==2:
return (v[0]+v[1])/2
sm = []
v1 = v[:-1]
for i in range(l-1):
sub = v1[:i] + v1[i+1:]
sm.append(smean(sub))
return ((smean(sm))*(l-1) +v[-1])/l
@IgorLetina@msiniscalchi@ben_golub I think that to improve readability the preferable solutions is:
\left(
\begin{aligned}
Long expr.\\ long expr.
\end{aligned}
\right)
@RaulGuarini@evernote@msonenote@NotabilityApp@LucaMarconato2 Just to clarify, I like to add separate notes. I know that probably it is not the best solution for notes alone, but it works for me and I wouldn't switch if that would affect how I handle the whole database of articles.
@RaulGuarini@evernote@msonenote@NotabilityApp I recommend Zotero. It was made to create a database of articles but you can attach (markup) notes or other files to every article. @LucaMarconato2 has something to add I think...
There is also support from NU Library (a drop-in event tomorrow):

@PelletThomas Je suis un peu surpris, y a-t-il des données divisées par quartier? Je pense que deux des principaux quartiers (Opera et Atlantis) ont des habitants majoritairement français.
