@em203alexc Minimum wage is a blunt tool, but it serves a purpose in supporting workers in situations where they have little or no bargaining power. At roughly current levels, any negative distortionary effect is fairly small, so I would not recommend changing it.
@em203alexc For a government looking to reduce poverty, there are other tools that allow for better targeting with fewer potential distortions - as such, I wouldn’t advocate for raising it dramatically. (I don’t have a strong opinion on whether $14 or $15 is right.)
@Scaramucci hey mooch! If u reply to this tweet I get a bonus mark for my class,we have 2 ask an expert on a current issue in society. Should we leave the free market to determine wage or should a minimum level be enforced by the government?Thnx! @DeidreScaramuc2@moochandthemrs

@kjacksonatwlu Hi professor, for EM203 I was asked to talk to an expert about a current issue in society.I chose to talk about the economy and minimum wage. Do you think the we should leave the free market to determine wage or should a minimum level be enforced by the government?

Interesting to see this happening after midterm voting taking place yesterday, if the GOP would have been able to keep the house would there still have been a resignation? #EM203Weber
.@EM203TDavidson Great mind map! I like how you used the 3 R's approach to recycling. You could talk about how Starbucks is no longer using plastic straws in their stores! #EM203Wproblems
