Great first day of @SLU_aqua days at Marstrand. Good to hear about all exciting work across both fresh, coastal and offshore systems and talking about MPA's and trawling/non-trawling areas in beautiful surroundings. 🌊🦀🐟
Views from deck @rv_svea_slu and @SLU_aqua. I have seen many northern lights however at lat 58 auroras are rarer and was quite fascinating spotting them from deck while working with #benthic video surveys in trawled vs. #trawlfree areas in the #Skagerrak sea.
In my new position @SLU_aqua I am heading out with this new vessel RV Svea @_SLU to do both benthic exploratory as well as monitoring work with underwater video. Excited to be out at sea again and to survey new seas #Skagerack#marinebiology#benthicsystems#seafloorsurveys
#Chemosynthesis-based carbon supports seabed communities at #Arctic cold seeps. Seeping #methane and chemosynthesis provide an alternative and supplementary food/energy source to Arctic seafloor animals by Emmelie Åström.

You might have heard that you are what you eat? This is also true for seafloor creatures in the Arctic. At Barents Sea cold seeps, methane & chemosynthethic "food" is part of the foodweb to some creatures. Pop. summary @geoforskning or OA article @MEPS_IR
