Can u bridle ur tongue when ur heart is under pressure? That’s how u show that u are wise. An understanding heart keeps u cool calm & collected no mater what u are facing. Wen even a fool bites his tongue he’s considered wise. So shut ur mouth wen u are provoked u wil look smart
There is an old African Proverb that I love:
“A cat that dreams of becoming a lion must lose its appetite for rats.”
To achieve greatness, you must let go of old habits that could hold back your progress.
You don’t suffer because life is difficult. You suffer because your desires exceed reality. The more you want, the more you are bound to outcomes you cannot control. You will only be truly content, when your effort matches your expectation of reality.
The person who keeps learning and going eventually becomes the person others learn from. Never ever quit. Life can go from 0 to 100 really quick. Trust me on this.
You must master the GRACE of SILENCE. Be silent in the heat of anger. Be silent when you don't have all the facts. Be silent when you haven't verified the story. Be silent if your words will offend a weaker person. Be silent when it is time to listen. Be silent when you are tempted to make light of holy things. Be silent when you are tempted to joke about sin. Be silent if you would be ashamed of your word later. Be silent if your words would convey the wrong impression. Be silent if the issue is none of your business. Be silent when you are tempted to tell an outright lie. Be silent if your words will damage someone else's reputation. Be silent if your words will damage a friendship. Be silent when you are feeling critical. Be silent if you can't say it without screaming. Be silent if your words will be a poor reflection of your friends and family. Be silent if you may have to eat your words later. Be silent - if you have already said it more than one time. Be silent when you are tempted to flatter a wicked person. Be silent when you are supposed to be working instead!!
WHOEVER GUARDS HIS MOUTH AND TONGUE KEEPS HIS SOUL FROM TROUBLES.
Some people kneel and pray for your downfall, but they forget: only God gives blessings and only He can take them away. Stay humble always. God isn’t from your village.
In some Arab countries, a man will avoid arousing envy by doing as Cosimo de Medici did by showing his wealth only on the inside of his house.
Apply this wisdom to your own character.
Nobody can unseat you from a table God has already prepared for you. People can talk, doubt, or try to compete for a seat that was never theirs to take. What's meant for you isn't up for debate—it's only a matter of time.
You don’t drift toward being positive.
You don’t drift toward being a good leader.
You don’t drift toward being resilient.
You don’t drift toward being selfless.
You don’t drift toward being disciplined.
You decide. Moment by moment.
Live intentionally.
You don't help people get better by shaming them, mocking them, criticizing them or isolating them.
You help them get better by encouraging them, valuing them, believing in them and holding them accountable to a better standard.
Call people up, not out.
Nobody is stingy. People work hard for their money. If you think someone is stingy simply because they choose how to spend their own money, then you are the problem.
@mindandglory Respect isn't something you can demand. It's earned through integrity, responsibility, and the actions you repeat every day. If it's lost, consistent effort is what helps rebuild it.
Forgive your old self. You've changed. You know things now that you didn't know then. You see patterns you couldn't see before. You understand now why you made the choices you made. Stop judging your past with the wisdom of your present. Maybe you were surviving. Learning. Growing in the only way you knew how. Be grateful it happened. Because without those mistakes, heartbreaks, wrong choices... you wouldn't be the person reading this today.
