US and Iranian officials have signed a deal to end a months-long war that spilled into neighbouring countries, killing more than 6,000 people across the Middle East.
But to ensure a sustainable end to hostilities any deal signed must centre the protection of human rights, accountability, and justice and reparations for victims of crimes under international law.

China: The detention of church leaders from the Early Rain Covenant Church is the latest example of the Chinese government’s efforts to crack down on independent religious activity and enforce state control over belief and worship.

UK: Social media ban for under 16s ‘right diagnosis, wrong prescription’. If the diagnosis is that social media platforms are harming children, the remedy should be to regulate the platforms, not exclude children.

Georgia’s experience over the last three years is a cautionary tale of how governments can rapidly turn state institutions into potent tools of repression for the sake of entrenching their own power.

The UK’s recent social media ban for under-16s, alongside similar measures in other countries, reflects the right diagnosis but the wrong prescription.
Blanket bans risk undermining children’s rights to expression and access to information, while driving intrusive age‑verification and expanding surveillance. They are also unlikely to work, pushing young people into less visible, more harmful spaces.
Most importantly, they shift responsibility onto children and parents instead of where it belongs. The burden must be on states and companies to fix the system, not on young people to navigate it.
What’s needed is strong regulation: safety by design, limits on surveillance‑driven models, child‑protective defaults, and real accountability. Protect children online, without stripping away their rights.

The widespread use of risk profiling systems by public authorities in law enforcement, social security and migration is incompatible with international human rights law and must be banned.

Call on world leaders to stop Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank by imposing targeted sanctions against directly implicated Israeli officials and banning trade, investments or financial assistance fuelling unlawful occupation. https://t.co/O6hkCu00AS
Video after video shows Israeli settlers violently harassing and attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, seizing their livestock, bulldozing their schools, setting fire to their property and even killing Palestinians as part of a brutal campaign to forcibly displace Palestinians and expand control over the land – with full political and financial backing from the highest authorities of the Israeli state.
This is what a policy of state-led ethnic cleansing looks like.
Watch. Share. Demand action.
Israel’s campaign to displace Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is not random, not sporadic, and not the work of “extremist settlers.” It is state-led, state-backed, and accelerating, and amounts to crimes against humanity, including forcible transfer.

Israeli authorities have deliberately accelerated formal annexation of the occupied West Bank through a state-driven ethnic cleansing campaign targeting Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities in Area C of the West Bank.

Fired for asking a question?
We stand with Italian journalist Gabriele Nunziati as he takes legal action against Agenzia Nova after his contract was terminated following a question he asked the European Commission about Israel paying for the reconstruction of Gaza last October.
In Europe, the silencing, censorship and repression of journalists speaking out against Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip are arbitrarily restricting the right to freedom of expression.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has been killing scores of Palestinian journalists in Gaza who were bravely continuing to report despite being themselves victims of Israeli abuses. No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed than Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip.
Humanity must win.
