I'm organizing a two-day summer school on networks (10-11 September) at Monash University where Matt Jackson (@JacksonmMatt ), Sanjeev Goyal, and myself will teach a 12 hours course. It is free and anybody interested can apply here: https://t.co/n1Mn23GWZX
@aortmannphd Honestly, this is just ridiculous. It's a class that starts around August. The first replication report was dropped 3 weeks ago. I've had a few more pressing matters to look into the past couple weeks, like helping affected PhD students. Little tired of assumptions of bad faith.

What a fantastic recruiting year we had! Monash Economics welcomes Lisa Botbol (Toulouse), Alexander Haas @ahaas_econ (Oxford), Santiago Hermo (Brown), and Kate Huang (Caltech) as our newest members. Great people and great economists all.
@DinaPomeranz Looking at US academic jobs only, it's only down 10%. JOE is likely losing market share to EconJobMarket, etc for other sectors. If so, it's a well-deserved loss (poorly designed, poorly run, high-priced).
@PseudoVoegelin@ash_craig As someone who just acquired (dual) Australian citizenship after living here 17 years and contributing quite a lot to Australia, I think it's quite easy to argue against banning dual citizenship. But as you haven't provided any argument FOR stripping my rights, I'll pass.
@PitchfordRohan 1) Why compete for quota? Just assign each uni a quota. That's what gov't did with capping CSP.
2) Unis are part of govt. Cannot simply ignore revenue loss and count only that going to Treasury. Still gov't revenue, and it lessens direct payment needed for unis from Treasury.
We are currently hiring Teaching Associates in the #economics department at Monash University.
Please contact my colleague @paraj00 for any questions about this position. Positions based in Melbourne, work permit/visa, and WWCC required.

@ZacGross@Noahpinion Do these pro-DPRK leftists actually exist, at least in meaningful numbers? Never met one myself. Maybe I've just been away from SFBay for too long now.
@gdjeste No idea who you are or how you ended up on my feed, but followed bc you were funny AF. Still are. Of course, chances are at least one of us is actually a bot.
@asphilosophyas @iVinodMishra Here's an example at Stanford. It made quite the impression on me as a first-year asst prof nearby. https://t.co/IMplgfn5i0
Not long after U Nevada shuttered a related department, laying tenured off. Tenure in US varies, but mostly prevents firing without cause.
@asphilosophyas @iVinodMishra First off, ACU did a shabby thing to you, though not sure who you are. Monash is actively trying to help some hurt by ACU. Don't conflate us. Second, bad things can happen in US too. Look at West Virginia U right now. US universities also can and have cut whole units.
@krisgulati Your university should have a policy on co-authorships, and you would qualify under any reasonable standard. Such conversations should be grounded in the policy, not on what people think is or isn't deserved. See e.g. https://t.co/WryaFc5Czl
