Small but mighty comes to mind ✨😆
I’ve been breastfeeding for 322 days so far.
Not bad going considering I was only going to “give it a go” AND she arrived 9 weeks early ☺️
I am proud of me.
Technically my maternity ends tomorrow, and I think babi knows it 🥲
Friday night in A&E with her and a weekend of battling high temps and fussiness, boy am I glad I have annual leave pushing back my physical return date! Currently a zombie in human form ☠️
Amelia’s daddy’s first Father’s Day 💙And he’s had a day full of his favourite things:
• coffee in bed
• quality time with his girls (💗🐾)
• walk along Porthcawl seafront
• fajitas
• football
• a toblerone
• and a whiskey
…hasn’t Amelia done well? 👀😆😂

This was a single experience of unfortunately a long list of bad experiences with my maternity + postnatal care. Ofc this post isn’t about blame or naming names, it’s about wanting better.
I will advocate for others + share my experiences with those that can influence change 🌸
It’s a year ago to the day where I was almost discharged from an antenatal appointment, even though my bi-weekly scan showed a problem.
Thankfully I challenged it and after a call to the consultant obstetrician, I had emergency surgery at 20 weeks pregnant 4hrs later.

High risk pregnancies need better antenatal care. Parents + their unborn babies should be a priority. Period.
A ‘quality statement’ isn’t enough. Commitment from multidisciplinary teams to protect pregnant people & their babies is what’s needed. @WGHealthandCare@CwmTafMorgannwg
I need to make a sincere apology to all the mums who took maternity leave before me. Ashamed that I thought it was a break 🫣
To all the mums yet to come, or colleagues who think the same. It’s no holiday 😅 We’ve swapped a 37.5hr job for a 24/7 one. Hard but so rewarding 🩷
Shocked and saddened to read this ☹️It’s always been a hub of information and for many immense support.
I hope with its closure that the progression for cervical services/funding/backing doesn’t dwindle. The fight for women’s health equality can’t disappear ✊🏼

15 years ago I built an intranet that allowed people to subscribe to content they wanted to read. It then gave them a daily update each morning in their inbox.
Every comms audit I do, I still come back to this as a solution because relevance and simple is still important.

Highly recommend @ParkgateHotel for a little downtime 😌 the spa, dining and overall experience was lovely… though we could not for the life of us figure out the thermostat in the room 🥲 Are we THAT old now? 🦖😂
