Ain't gonna lie with all the dismissive English hate towards American soccer fans you would figure they had managed to beat us at a World Cup at least once
🚨 | JUST IN: India have dropped down 3 places to 139th in the latest FIFA Rankings 🇮🇳 📉
Meanwhile, our neighbours Pakistan 🇵🇰 have risen 3 places to be ranked 199 after back-to-back wins vs Maldives & Afghanistan!
#IndianFootball Team last won 2 games in a row back in 2023 😬
Aymeric Laporte on his time with #ManCity in the Champions League: “Against Tottenham, we lost because of the hand of [Fernando] Llorente. The year after, first game against them. I flicked to Gabriel Jesus, it hit my head and my hand, VAR said handball. Who can say this one is handball and last year we lost the Champions League because of this? They are killing me.
“So many injustices. I swear, every year, we were in the same situation. We missed the penalty against Tottenham, [Sergio] Aguero, and after they scored with the hand. Against Liverpool, offsides, no offside. Small details.
“We could’ve won the same as the Premier League… in six years we could’ve won five Champions Leagues. Stupid mistakes… I’m losing my mind. It’s always, ‘Arrghhh’… It’s trauma, no? These kinds of games…” [via @SamLee]

FIFA should be ashamed of itself.
Allowing the USA & Trump administration, to turn the World Cup into a platform for political games is an insult to football, to the fans, and to the spirit of the tournament.
The World Cup is supposed to unite the world through sport, not be used as a stage for dirty politics and embarrassment. FIFA’s leadership has failed badly, and those responsible should be held accountable.
This is quickly becoming one of the biggest embarrassments in World Cup history.
The whole 82-0 phenomenon reinforces that whole bit about how the only thing a bunch of dudes need in order to have a good time is to sit around announcing the names of a bunch of old athletes.
Always think World Cups are so beautiful for associative memory. They come every four years, allow you to reflect on life, how far you have come, where you were when it last came and just an opportunity to somehow be grateful for everything.
