I have since been released when the military saw that it was a clear attempt by APC to subvert the wish of the people. I am now back here at my polling unit delivering for Governor Adeleke .

One of the first things the military drills into your head isn’t how to shoot. It’s how not to shoot.

Long before you spend serious time on the range, you are taught the four fundamental rules of weapon safety:

1. Treat every weapon as if it is loaded.
2. Never point a weapon at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you’re ready to fire.
4. Ensure proper identification of your target and its surroundings.

These aren’t suggestions. They are rules repeated over and over until they become second nature because breaking any one of them can cost a life.

That’s why I have always been uncomfortable seeing videos or having personal encounters where armed officers, whether police, military, or other security personnel, handle firearms carelessly, point them at people unnecessarily, or keep their finger on the trigger without cause.

I have seen this happen in Nigeria over the years, and every time, it reminds me why these four rules exist.

It’s also why the explanation of “accidental discharge” has never made much sense to me.

If these four rules are followed consistently, an accidental discharge is far less likely to happen. And even when a firearm does discharge unintentionally, following the rules, especially keeping the muzzle pointed away from anything you’re unwilling to destroy and keeping your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire, can prevent that mistake from becoming a fatal one.

Firearms don’t forgive complacency. Professionalism starts with safe handling. Weapon safety isn’t just a range rule. It’s a public trust.

At Ikeja Mall, this afternoon, a lady just randomly walked up to me and asked me to please put on my hotspot for her to use because she’s out of data.

There appears to be a serious problem with the recently released results that WAEC has so far refused to publicly acknowledge and address. The consequences are not abstract. Real students are affected. Their admissions, opportunities and futures are at stake.

We cannot sit back and watch an institution as important as WAEC toy with the destinies of young people because it is unwilling to admit that something may have gone wrong.

If there is a glitch, admit it. Investigate it transparently. Fix it. And where students have been wrongly affected, correct their results.

That is what accountability looks like.

No institution should be too big to admit an error, especially when the future of a child may depend on it.

WAEC must be accountable. WAEC must be transparent. And every affected student deserves answers.

I was at the bank today when a heated argument broke out between a mechanic and one of the female bankers.

The man had tried to send money to his son in the university but the transfer had been pending for days. He had no choice but to walk into the bank.

While attending to him, she was busy gisting with her colleagues like nobody was standing in front of her. The man got frustrated and said:

"Young lady attend to me make I dey go. You no see say I dey work?"

She muttered and said:

"Please don't rush me because of your 20,000 naira transfer. I'm not playing here."

That stung him. He raised his voice and called her out for being disrespectful. I stepped in, calmed things down and told her clearly that she was wrong.

She was not happy with me. I did not give a hoot.

Just because you sit in an office while a man works in dirty overalls does not give you the right to disrespect him. That 20,000 naira he was sending to his son in school is the fruit of his sweat.

Respect people regardless of what they do for a living.
