Suddenly, today, I panicked about life inching back toward “normal.”
I don’t want to travel endlessly for work. I don’t want my weekends to be over-committed with activities. I don’t want to miss bedtime with my kid. I don’t want to wear blazers — or, hell, even shoes.
No one likes paying taxes, but at least I’d know I was paying enough to really make a difference above gov’t’s typical mismanagement of taxpayer funds. $5B (Bezos) would fix a lot of infrastructure or lift most people out of poverty. And I’d *still* be one of the richest people!
I can’t even fathom earning this much money on the backs of others & not wanting them to also be able to afford to live a decent life; to say nothing of not wanting to pay equitable taxes.

You can’t be a democracy and an oligarchy at the same time. Either the country belongs to all of us or the country belongs only to a few of us. This is the deepest existential question about who we are and who we want to be.
My heart breaks for families and communities across WA.
While there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, our state has already experienced immense devastation. Please keep those we’ve lost in your thoughts. Let’s all mask up, stay safe, and do our part to end this crisis.
The actual crisis is how entire generations are sunk w/inhumane levels of student debt, low incomes, high rent, no guarantee of healthcare & little action on climate change which creates a situation where feeling stable enough to have a kid can feel more like a luxury than a norm
Stop glamorizing “the grind” and start glamorizing getting 7+ hours of sleep at night, having healthy relationships, feeling safe at work, taking sick days, being paid a living wage, working hard when you’re at work, boundaries, and self-caring your way to success.
Hi, it's me, your neighborhood reasonable adult. I heard Dr. Seuss books were "banned" in a Virginia school district, which surprised me! So, I did what any reasonable adult would do with internet access: I looked it up to get official details. (thread)
Secret Service just released new docs showing Trump’s first trip to Bedminster as POTUS in 2017 — and the spigot of taxpayer money it opened for his business.
First trip: 4 days, Trump Org charged the Secret Service $5,343 for a cottage near Trump.
