Goal: die #1 on the leaderboard of people who changed the world.

My #1 speed reading hack: listen to the audiobook WHILE you read the book.
Keeps you focused. Uses visual AND auditory processing systems.
You will be able to increase your speed to 2-3x in no time. Trying to go back to regular reading will feel painful and slow.
@michaeldsimmons@SpencrGreenberg It's very important as a social lubricant and to show that you're not crazy/dangerous. My goal is to small talk JUST enough to signal this, then move on.
@EMostaque Emad, if you're interested in funding/supporting AI safety projects, check out https://t.co/qRr2TPfiqk.
One of these ~500 projects might catch your interest.
@EAheadlines A reminder that people can apply to 60+ AI safety funders here (many EA infrastructure-type projects qualify): https://t.co/qRr2TPfiqk
Deadline is May 24th!
Just launched a service that will hopefully make it waaaaaay easier to get funding in AI safety ๐ฅณhttps://t.co/SW2qBsVmq7...
TLDR: Apply to >30 AI safety funders in one application with the Nonlinear Network
This will hopefully increase your chances of becoming fully funded for practically no extra effort.
Inspired by the Nonlinear Emergency Fund, where we asked applicants if they were OK sharing their applications with other potentially interested funders.
Those who said yes ๐พ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ their chances of getting funded, and 10xโed the amount they got overall.
Which makes sense if you think about it. The more people you ask, the more likely it is youโll get a yes.
Except that asking tons of people is usually super hard. Itโs hard/awkward to even find the people, and then you have to go through tons of rejections.
With our system you can skip over all of that and you just hear from the people who like what youโre doing and want to support you.
On the funder side it makes sense too: instead of just funding the big names or the people you happen to run into, you can get access to a similar โdeal flowโ as the big EA funders.
Except since youโre anonymous, you donโt have to give any awkward rejections or feel overwhelmed by people constantly โsellingโ to you.
This increases the odds of you finding a hidden gem or under-invested in strategy that you wish more people were doing.
Excited to see how this goes. Could really help make the AI safety funding ecosystem healthier, help earning to givers during their time of triumph, and help make it easier to fundraise.
Deadline to apply to be a funder or to apply for funding, is May 17th: https://t.co/Fg3XZHBmOY
Upvotes and retweets appreciated as always! If we get more people seeing this, more poeple will be able to get funding and find funding opportunities. Which then leads to more AI safety work getting done and sweet sweet market efficiencies.
AND it gives me warm fuzzies, and I mean, who would say no to that opportunity ๐

@Pandatronai These are some of the big questions being explored in the alignment field but you'll be disappointed to hear we are probably not close to resolving them.
This post by @leopoldasch is a good summary:

How is anyone able to work on or think about anything other than AI right now?
It's the most hyped technology in history and is still, somehow, way *way* underhyped.
