Kammavaca, lacquered palm leaf sheets between two lacquered wooden lids, Burma, ca. 1900. This ordination manuscript is written in Pali in the stylized tamarind seed script. It contains passages from the Tipitaka — the Theravada Buddhist canon — related to life in the monastery.
