🚨🗣 Jamie Carragher on Egypt's Canceled goal by VAR:
🗣"I am telling you that, if that was against another team it would have been awarded as a goal"
"If that was in the premier league, Laliga or Serie A, it would have been a goal even after VAR review, there is a lot of inconsistency lately in this tournament"
🚨 ÚLTIMA HORA: El árbitro le acaba de perdonar la expulsión al jugador de Argentina por un manotazo en el cuello al jugador egipcio.
Lo de Messi en los Mundiales es un escándalo sin precedentes.
We have been asked about the controversial offside call in the Iran v Egypt game.
Not actually controversial at all. It’s a trick on the eye based on what we expect to see 99 times out of 100.
For anyone that is interested:
Law 11 is clear: offside is judged against “both the ball and the second-last opponent” — not just the last defender. So if the GK has come out, the defender on the line becomes the LAST opponent, and the offside line is the next defender. That’s why it was given.
On behalf of the 8,800 members of @TorontoPolice whom we proudly represent, we would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support we have received in response to Constable Pinizzotto’s murder.
From our police association family to government officials, from the media to everyday citizens, thank you for standing with us and with Marc’s family.
To the dedicated staff at @Sunnybrook, our heartfelt gratitude. We know you did everything possible to save Marc’s life, and you then opened your doors to our members and Marc’s family. To patients and visitors who may have been inconvenienced by our presence, thank you for your understanding.
To our first responder family, including @Toronto_Fire, @TorontoMedics, surrounding police services @OPP@PeelPolice@DRPS@YRP, and staff and visitors @HRHealth and the Coroner’s Office, thank you for assisting with and attending yesterday’s procession.
Our collective hearts are broken, and we will continue to surround Marc’s family with strength and support as we mourn this tragic loss.
Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement told the Toronto Star in response to MASN analyst Brian Roberts questioning Toronto fans' baseball IQ: "We get 40,000 a night here. I mean, they probably get 5,000 a night, so it makes sense that you’d be a little salty about that.”
Major cheat code in life: Understanding you can reinvent yourself at any time. New habits, new standards, new friend group, new career, etc. There's no rule that says you have to stay the person you've always been. You're allowed to decide––"I'm done being this version of me."
@Sid_Seixeiro Just stop commenting on Toronto sports. It’s always a negative take because you desperately want engagement.
If they do something undisciplined, take a penalty, let Florida back in the game, you criticize that. If they focus on winning the game, you have to make this comment.
