aku unsubs Maudy beneran deh keknya, she's not spreading positivity anymore, she's just becoming tone deaf 🥲
kak masa kamu nulis puluhan-ratusan esai sampe lulus di Ivy League, pernah jadi volunteer juga kan, pernah kan ngeliat kondisi grass root itu kayak gimana?
trus kamu bilang karena hati mungilmu ga sanggup liat bad news yg lewat tiap hari kamu nutup jendelanya dan setelah aku nunggu 3 minggu dari waktu kamu upload video ini ternyata ga ada foll-up nya, yg mana aku harapkan cuman karena kamu memang exhausted aja, tapi kamu beneran tone deaf 🥲
kita juga kalo punya pilihan ya bakalan menjauh dari bad news, tp it's happening, that's reality, itu bukan sesuatu yg bisa kita pilih
justru dg mega platform dan capasity yg kamu punya kamu malah milih diam? kenapa? karena kamu takut kariermu kesenggol elite sekaligus masih mempertahankan market middle-low class-mu karena mereka generate engagement dan konsumsi produk mu juga?
kamu tuh literally jualan produk dg bahan dari pulau yg sangat terdampak dari brutalnya kebijakan pemerintah sekarang loh, kenapa gitu harus ngomong kek begini
borjuis² ini mungkin hanya akan ikutan teriak kalo akhirnya hidup mereka kesenggol secara langsung kali ya, tp mau rupiah naik sampe 25.000 pun dg income dan akumulasi kekayaan mereka skrg mereka masih bisa makan enak, makanya bisa milih mau buang bad news dari feed dan telinga mereka sementara orang² yg dia "ceramahin" buat filter bad news ya orang² yg ga punya pilihan juga
Catatan penting wawancara Prabowo:
1) banyak orang baru di Pemerintahan, sehingga komunikasi kurang baik dan banyak salah mengucap (konteks kepala babi Hasan Nasbi HAHA).
2) demo boleh, ASALKAN damai. Hinting bahwa demo ada yg menggerakkan. Argue ada kekuatan asing.
"Liat tuh cina dgn vietnam. Militernya megang, rakyatnya makmur".
SOS: URGENT CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION TO INDONESIA'S DEMOCRATIC BACKSLIDING
To the International Community, Human Rights Organizations, and Global Media:
We write with urgent concerns about troubling developments in Indonesia that threaten to undermine democratic governance and return the country to its authoritarian past. Recent policy shifts indicate potential restoration of military supremacy over civilian authority—a dangerous regression that demands immediate international attention.
Indonesia, the world's third-largest democracy, has made remarkable progress since the 1998 fall of the Suharto dictatorship and subsequent democratic reforms that established civilian control over the military. These reforms were crucial in ending decades of military interference in politics, economics, and everyday civilian life.
During the Suharto era (1966-1998), the Indonesian military maintained a "dual function" (dwifungsi) doctrine that justified its involvement in governance and civil affairs. This period was marked by widespread human rights abuses, suppression of political opposition, and entrenchment of military interests throughout society.
Recent policy proposals and legislative initiatives suggest a dangerous reversal of these democratic gains:
1. Proposed amendments to security legislation that would expand military authority in civilian domains without adequate oversight mechanisms;
2. Increasing appointments of retired military officers to civilian government positions;
3. Expanded military territorial command structure that parallels civilian governance;
4. Reintroduction of military involvement in areas previously reserved for civilian administration.
This shift threatens to undermine Indonesia's hard-won democratic institutions and norms. The potential consequences include:
- Erosion of civil liberties and political freedoms;
- Weakened civilian oversight of security forces;
- Increased risk of human rights violations;
- Compromised judicial independence
- Deterioration of press freedom
- Regression to authoritarian governance patterns.
We urgently call upon:
- International media to spotlight these concerning developments;
- Democratic governments to engage diplomatically with Indonesian counterparts;
- International human rights bodies to monitor the situation closely;
- Civil society organizations to support Indonesian pro-democracy advocates
- Multilateral institutions to emphasize democratic governance in their Indonesian engagements.
Indonesia's democratic journey has been an inspiration across Southeast Asia. Its continued success depends on maintaining civilian supremacy over military forces. The international community must not remain silent as this fundamental democratic principle comes under threat.
The time for attention and action is now, before institutional safeguards are dismantled beyond repair.
*This message comes from concerned Indonesian citizens and civil society organizations committed to preserving democratic governance and civilian authority.*
Tempat nyucinya sih dibiarkan runtuh jadi abu.
On November 24, 2009, John Edward Jones tragically lost his life in the Nutty Putty cave following a harrowing 28-hour ordeal.
While exploring with his brother Josh, Jones accidentally entered a constricted tunnel, mistaking it for another tight passage known as the "Birth Canal."
He became lodged upside-down in a 10 by 18 inches (25 by 46 cm) opening approximately 400 feet (120 m) from the cave's entrance.
Jones was trapped in a position resembling a hook, where any movement could cause severe injury due to the unnatural angles of his body.
A large team of rescuers responded, employing an advanced rope-and-pulley system in their efforts to save him. However, the operation faced a setback when a pulley malfunctioned during the extraction process.
Jones eventually suffered cardiac arrest, a consequence of the prolonged stress on his body from being in an inverted and compressed position.
The rescuers, realizing the high risk involved, decided against attempting to recover his body. An agreement was reached between the landowner and Jones's family to seal the cave permanently, turning it into a memorial for Jones.
To secure the area, explosives were used to collapse the ceiling near where Jones was located, and the entrance was filled with concrete, ensuring no further access.
