@JamesMelville@ValMarinescu The data centers are not consuming the water, they are borrowing it for a few hours, heating it, then dumping in back. They could use cooling ponds but getting the ponds approved is expensive. Data centers are not even poluting the water, they are only heating it.
The antitrust laws are about abuse, not about monopolies.
Can't call somebody a monopolist when his company literraly created the market he dominates.
Wait until he starts squeezing his customers and blocking the entry of new competitors like the old ISPs do, and they donit even in Romania.
@ChrisMartzWX El Nino getting weaker: maybe related to neutron counts trending up during solar minimums, assuming you're into the Shaviv-Svensmark hypothesis about galactic rays modulating cloud cover.
I know a QA which used a ruler on the screen. Once she found a widget which was vertically misaligned by a pixel and would not pass the commit until that was fixed. The frontend team had their brain rotted by Bootstrap and could not fix it.
The strange thing is after I knew that misalignment was there I could actually see it and it bothered me too.
Read earlier today that controlled domestic prices have discouraged imports -- cannot make a buck (or a yuan) on refining at current global prices ...
Amazing swing

Great article by the author of the "Blue Zones are fraud" paper.

As for the M3.3-flare, it was not too long-lasting, but with solar flux dropping overall as we continue our descent towards solar minimum, the flare has been quite disruptive. HF/VHF radio propagation on the dayside is showing strong signs of degradation. (See the globes on the left of the frame). Radio communicators should expect comms to slowly come back over the next hour, but GNSS/GPS users should expect the risk for signal degradation to worsen especially near sunrise and sunset now. Drone pilots stay vigilant. Aviators in the northern hemisphere at high latitudes (with the Sun near the horizon) expect noisy VHF comms for the next half hour or so.
@bradley_steve@RyanWeather "That's only on listed structures"
Not sure about that, when I lived in Essex terraced houses that seemed built during the 1960s needed a very hard to get special approval to install double glazed windows :-).
The whole rest of the world is living vicariously through you, our tribulatuons seem a lot less glamorous than whatever is happening in the US :-) ... my current gripe with life is having to endure the abuse of deodorants on the subway, being involved in the fight against evil AI data center operators would be so much more satisfying.
