The fact that the cost of fuel is now around 1.89-2.00 per litre and unpaid student nurses continue to only be reimbursed 0.28p per mile is disgraceful. This will likely impact the affordability of nurse training when it is already challenging to financially manage.

Something that has been really eye opening as a student MH nurse is how AMAZING support workers are. Band 2 salary is absolute madness for the work that goes in. No one can tell me that is unskilled.

I really hate the term ‘unskilled’. All jobs require certain skills and not all people could do them. Most ‘unskilled’ jobs are also very valuable to the general wellbeing of society and they deserve respect and a liveable wage!!!

I work as a hospital domestic and will absolutely struggle to get by when my UC is cut this month. According to Rishi Sunak I should just retrain and get a better paid job. I'd like to see how long hospitals stay open if all the "unskilled" workers like me were to do this 🙄

The Covid vaccine drive has really hammered home that we should be teaching media literacy in schools. Teaching what a credible source is. Teaching how to detect bias. Misinformation is thriving.

@Stnbecca2 @DitsyRedOne @louisesarahh @StNurseProject Research suggests around 40-60%. I’m not advocating for it to necessarily be put into law but trusts should be able to make it a condition of employment, same as hep b immunisations to protect their staff and patients. No jab no job is fair.
