@EndometriosisSA No, thank YOU 🙏 for highlighting this underrepresented but VITAL aspect to #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth 🤗 💛 appreciate your focus on our holistic humanity and wellbeing 🙏 let’s connect
gentle reminders for my endo girlies this month:
your journey is yours, don’t compare
you don’t have to share your story
you’re allowed to disconnect
advocate for yourself
prioritise rest & healing
protect your peace
you’re not alone
you are enough
you are seen
💛
If you see a disabled person or chronically ill person and you want to tell them to “just do some exercise”, just don’t and stfu. I have lupus, myositis and chronic migraine. I did 10 mins of exercise today and it wrecked me. You have no idea how hard it can be.
Endometriosis is Beyond the Womb.
It’s leg pain, back pain, mental health struggles, and financial strain. It’s everything, and it affects every part of us.
We fight, we heal, and we share our stories, because every voice matters.

Awareness isn’t enough - we need action.
Let me be clear:
Endometriosis has and continues to be the biggest battle of my life.
I’ve survived racism, family violence, poverty.
Nothing could’ve prepared me for the journey I’ve taken these past five years.
It took me almost two decades for anyone to take my pain seriously and unfortunately this is the norm - women being routinely ignored and told they are hysterical.
Meanwhile, there were very material consequences to the medical neglect I experienced which led to a major four hour surgery in 2020 to remove what the gynae called ‘a nasty disease’.
This happened on the eve the pandemic was announced. When I scheduled surgery I believed I would be back on my feet in six weeks. Back to the business I’d spent four years building. Back to getting up every morning and going to the gym. Back to being me!
That’s not what happened.
I spent weeks in bed in debilitating pain after the surgery. No surprise - my entire insides had been stripped. All my nerves were exposed and it felt like a bonfire was constantly going off inside of me.
Many nights I said my prayers and thought I would die from the agony I was in.
It was unrelenting.
To help with the pain?
The doctor prescribed me Oxycodone. I hated it. But it was the only thing that brought my pain down to below an 8 so o could sit up and eat.
That’s how cut off at the knees I was.
It has been an extraordinary journey to come from there in 2020 to now celebrating the first year of my podcast Phoenix Sound in 2025.
Life is very different for me now.
I have had to grieve a lot.
I have had to accept a lot.
I am grateful I get to try and make a difference in people’s lives in some small way and I will continue to do just that for me and for every other Endo warrior out there battling every day.
I see you.
I hear you.
I am you and you are me.
We are one 💛
