@carolinetjones3 Group projects with different components are helpful. There are parts that require collaboration, but also parts that are done individually. Asking unique questions requires students to provide unique answers they can discuss with partners but ultimately come from their knowledge

@anm0054 Having different cultures represented in a class allows for students to take pride in their own culture. This gives each student the opportunity to study their own culture and present it to the class.

@carolinetjones3 I think a huge part of this is being intentional with every student and taking the time to have one on one conversations with them. Showing them that you care in this way gives them an opportunity to open up.

@Carolin86470106 I think that having rules in place is important. The more broad that the rules are, the better, but base rules are important. Even if the rules are more of protocols or certain behaviors that we agree to follow, they should be stated.

@caroline00134 I think that protocols are important in a classroom and having habits such as immediately coming in and getting started on work takes students far in life. Habits such as respecting those around you and being quick to ask for forgiveness are good examples.

@katherinemossau Teachers can have posters or books in their room that reflect different cultures and people groups. Even if the curriculum does not directly implement this, teachers can create activities that apply it in different ways.

@carolinetjones3 Standard English is the signifier because it doesn't change across the board and there has to be a standard to measure students' progression. Though dialect changes, the language of English must have some type of standardization.

@Carolin86470106 I do think that targeting this issue earlier will help with the inclusion problem, but I don't know if rules are the best answer to the problem; they might make students reject the idea. Incorporating inclusion into the class in other ways in early education would be beneficial.
