This is such a great insight on the #FutureofWriting. I think people love things they can scan and read in a minute. So many articles now tell you the number of minutes an article takes to read too!
After the Wikipedia challenge I feel like I am part of the Elite😂. Should I write that in my CV? In my bio? Like...I did that! I added important information that might help someone in Wikipedia #315slides#315wikichallenge
For my final post - thinking about doing a ranked list of my least and/or most favourite foods or a ranked list of the best restaurants for picky eaters in Montreal. Any other food related ideas? #315pitches
@fiona_bmcgill brings up an excellent point about the need for filtration and verification in a world of endless information. I think we're already moving towards it with content moderation on @Twitter and profile verification on @Tinder#FutureOfWriting
During that time, even though I felt that pressure to be always on, I also experienced social enjoyment from chatting with my friends when they responded. There's a silver lining to everything, I guess. #315WeekTwelve
I used to feel always on. I would send Snapchat streaks every night - trying to show that I was going out and having fun - endlessly pressuring myself to look busy all the time. The pandemic has taught me alone time matters too (plus, I got off Snap) #315WeekTwelve
@AyushCCOM315 I do this with complicated issues a lot. It's hard to get a grasp of the issue from just reading a short blurb, and Wikipedia pages have a breadth of info that allows you to just scan headers and specific sentences to get an okay understanding. #315slides
Throughout my life, I've heard of Wikipedia being described as a bad source. But when I finally understood how Wikipedia worked, I couldn't disagree more. Everything is meticulously sourced and is such a great resource for finding more "legitimate" resources #315slides
@rachfeldberg This is so true - sources are so important. Websites like AllSides help even more - indicating the political alignment of each website and showing news articles on the same topic from a left, center, and right perspective #315fakenews https://t.co/Ycz25cLNMY
Throwback to when I announced to my whole apartment that the US would not be competing at the Olympic games because I failed to read the article attached to the headline🤦♀️#315fakenews https://t.co/jl6Rh1WIHf
Fake news is something I'm cognizant of every time that I read the news. Regrettably, I tend to read the Daily Mail, and specifically in that context, I'm always looking out for fake news - from frivolous content like pregnancies to serious content like COVID #315fakenews
Defusing problematic platforms is not exclusive to K-Pop listeners. As a TikTok user, I can name two examples of when the TikTok community mobilized for similar purposes #315WeekEight
