EVERY WATER AND SEWAGE UTILITY IN ENGLAND AND WALES IS NOW UNDER INVESTIGATION BY OFWAT FOR ILLEGAL SEWAGE DUMPING — A FULL PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO THE SEWAGE SCANDAL IS LONG OVERDUE https://t.co/UvD5Gw90Iv
Thank heavens I've finally left this shithole. A devolved Wales was not far enough from this terrifying blend of corruption, malice, incompetence, and destructive force. Keep safe out there, people of the Disunited Kingdom.
I visited a precious nature area in Helsinki today and wrote about how Helsinki promotes biodiversity loss https://t.co/lBb9lXg3OP via @LinkedIn#SuojellaanStansvik
Is anyone else having issues with @RoyalMailHelp website? It seems completely dysfunctional and seeking any help/contact is set up in a very hostile way, it took multiple loops to just get to the contact form. Absolutely disgusted by this nonsense.
Hardly a shock given the state of our environment and complete lack of appetite to do anything about it.
Only surprise is the 27% who think they’re doing a good job!
Dwr Cymru have an independent environmental advisory panel (IEAP), but there are members with additional relationships with the company and so it doesn't seem very independent to me. Am I going insane or is credibility just collapsing all around me? https://t.co/WsQTBw6uh5
And 24 hours later, oh look, it rained again, yep, that’s all it takes, that really is all it takes.
And @DefraGovUK, @Ofwat & @EnvAgency do what exactly?
How it works: „A firm founded by Rishi Sunak’s father-in-law signed a billion-dollar deal with BP two months before the prime minister opened hundreds of new licences for oil and gas extraction in the North Sea.“ https://t.co/gMSjiRmtSh
This is pretty accurate. As record wildfires and heatwaves tear through countries around the world, Shell announced quarterly profits of £3.9 BILLION.
Big Oil is profiting off climate destruction while fueling the fire.
No time to wait. #ActOnClimate

1/ 🚨BREAKING🚨 5 of our Legal Observers are suing the Met police for arresting, detaining and assaulting them at 2021 Kill the Bill protests in London.
Lend your solidarity and support by donating to their challenge if you can, and sharing this 🧵widely: https://t.co/lciFfMufkz
@WWTworldwide@SarahFowlerWWT Hmmm. The thing is we @GW4FreshCDT are the team who have been researching nutrient removal rates at the Cromhall wetland and we are seeing negligible P removal. N removal is occurring, but at a lower rate than you report. Isotope evidence bears this out.
'We're doing everything we can to facilitate developer-led mitigation' ...'the onus on evidence is with the developer'... 'desk-based research' ... 'wetlands are pretty robustly evidenced'. Nutrient neutrality 🤪. What could possibly go wrong 😇 https://t.co/mOjJyJSmMS
A member of #SaveRiverTeifi campaign group has set up this petition. Please support local people mobilising to save the river. It will also help action on river health across Wales by showing how much people care & more funding needed to address challenge.

Brilliant review of the £87bn HS2 national disaster by @williamhague01 ⬇️
If 1% of this utter misuse of tax payers 💷 was spent on re-booting our failing environmental protection agencies - then we could have restored our failing rivers instead

I was invited to comment on the private water companies and their environmental record @BBCBreakfast this morning. They have ruthlessly exploited a regulation free environment for far too long. Our river ecosystems have paid a high price.
Each tide now brings with it so much death.
40+ new dead Guillemot today and 2 Terns, adding to the bodies of those brought in on other tides.
Sorry to share such sadness but we really need to be aware of what’s happening to our natural world.
