Just a reminder for everyone complaining about the strikes next week that if teachers were being paid anywhere close to what they deserve we wouldn't be in this mess. Maths isn't my strength but I'll try to explain:

The actual rate a teacher at that level earns now is £43685. Over £10000 less.

Add to this the stresses and strains of the job it means our recruitment and retention rates are awful. Dubious? Ask the teen in your life how many supply teachers they've had this year.
